New Job Opportunities for Youth in Hiroshima
In a groundbreaking collaboration,
Braise Corporation and
Clark'n, a next-generation venture born from Hiroshima University, have joined forces to combat a pressing issue in Hiroshima: the exodus of its youth. This partnership utilizes a blend of
SNS videos and
XR technology in a project called the
Hiroshima Employment Model, aimed at promoting local job retention among young people.
1. Background
Hiroshima Prefecture faces a serious challenge with its youth leaving the region, leading to a consistent high turnover rate. Government statistics indicate that Hiroshima has recorded the highest youth outflow in Japan for four consecutive years, contributing to workforce shortages and economic decline within the community.
Given the national emphasis on revitalizing regional areas, selecting suitable locations for implementing development models becomes crucial. Larger metropolitan areas, such as Tokyo, possess unique populations which hinder adaptability to rural contexts. Conversely, elderly populations in depopulated areas could struggle with viability when attempting similar initiatives. Hiroshima is positioned uniquely, given its moderate complexity in demographics, industrial structure, and youth outflow behaviors. Therefore, successful models forged in Hiroshima can be expected to provide practical examples applicable to other regional cities.
2. The Challenges
According to research by the Cabinet Office, young individuals prioritize workplace dynamics, job clarity, and realistic workplace experiences when selecting their jobs. Unfortunately, opportunities for direct interaction between local businesses and the youth of Hiroshima have been limited, resulting in a knowledge gap regarding local employment options. Instead, urban companies frequently engage in robust online and offline marketing, drawing young talents away from their local companies as they remain unaware of what these businesses offer.
3. Objectives of the Collaboration
This partnership aims to alleviate these challenges by implementing a structured approach for youth to understand Hiroshima’s companies better and develop a deep interest in local employment opportunities – the primary objective of the Hiroshima Employment Model.
4. Implementation Details
Clark'n specializes in creating content that communicates the allure of various businesses tailored to younger audiences, focusing primarily on enhancing business recognition through
SNS and video platforms. On the other hand, Braise Corporation excels in developing creative content utilizing the latest
XR technology (AR/VR). Together, they will facilitate a learning path for youth through
social media content followed by immersive workplace experiences utilizing XR technology. This combination allows participants to grasp an authentic office atmosphere and job specifics, all while making the experience more accessible compared to traditional internships, encouraging more students to participate and gain insight into local businesses.
5. Expected Outcomes
Through this collaboration, a continuous new model from business recognition to immersive experiences and actual job placements is expected to materialize. Deepening students' understanding and enhancing retention rates will support local economic vitality and sustained growth.
6. Future Prospects
This project aims to evaluate its impact by 2030, aspiring for a 15% increase in youth retention rates. Moreover, the Hiroshima Employment Model will undergo three phases and expand beyond the region, establishing a precedent for addressing local challenges on a national scale.
Both Braise Corporation and Clark'n are dedicated to evolving a sustainable society where local businesses and young individuals find mutual appreciation in their connection.
Summary
Through the integration of technology and the youthful perspective in advertising local job opportunities, this collaboration aims to illuminate the journey from awareness to employment, serving as a beacon of sustainable local revitalization.
