Dahua Technology Unveils Innovative AIoT Solutions at SCEWC 2026

At the recent Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) 2026 held in Barcelona, Dahua Technology, a global frontrunner in AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) solutions with a focus on video, exhibited its groundbreaking initiatives for smart cities. Under the theme, "Together for an AI-Powered Urban Future," Dahua highlighted various practical applications of AIoT designed to create safer, more efficient, and sustainable urban environments.

Dahua's urban security solutions integrate cameras and other IoT devices with AI-powered analytics tools to identify risks and coordinate emergency responses. One remarkable application combines intelligent recognition, text and image search, and route tracking alongside connected broadcasting and security protocols to support search efforts for missing persons.

In the domain of smart transportation, Dahua introduced technologies that facilitate traffic monitoring, optimize traffic signals, enforce regulations, and detect incidents. A notable project completed in Campeche, Mexico, involved optimizing 34 intersections and implementing seven "green waves" to improve traffic flow. The project resulted in a 20% increase in traffic volume and a 15% reduction in waiting times, showcasing how AI can enhance urban mobility.

Dahua's smart mobility solutions improve the safety and efficiency of public transportation systems through vehicle monitoring, safety alerts, and integrated information sharing. In bus transport operations, driver behavior monitoring helps identify risky practices, while real-time video, GPS tracking, and passenger counting aid in ensuring safety and managing fleet operations.

Moreover, Dahua's city management technologies utilize AI analysis and multimodal information processing to detect illegal street trading, littering in public spaces, missing manhole covers, street flooding, blocked fire lanes, smoke, and fires. Natural language searching and automated alerts enable staff to identify issues and coordinate resolutions promptly.

Dahua also introduced its Eco-Environment solutions aimed at protecting natural resources and managing environmental concerns. High-altitude thermal cameras provide 360-degree coverage and can detect potential fire hotspots from up to 10 kilometers away. When paired with ground monitoring and drones, these technologies assist in fire detection and emergency responses. Additionally, radar devices paired with PTZ cameras monitor water levels in real-time and send alerts when measurements exceed preset thresholds.

During the event, John Li, Dahua Technology's CEO of Global Government Business, participated in a high-level roundtable titled "Agent AI Systems Acting." He emphasized that AI integrated into cameras and sensors enables proactive urban management, from AI-powered searches to agents identifying city challenges and tracking solutions. Li also underscored the importance of ensuring privacy, transparency, and accountability to ensure AI technologies deliver public benefits.

Max Huang, Director of Global Government Projects at Dahua, delivered a presentation titled "Building Resilient, Inclusive, and Sustainable Smart Cities with AIoT," explaining how edge intelligence and high-quality structured data provide a foundation for deploying large AI models in real-world smart city scenarios. "Ultimately, IoT sensor devices are the 'eyes and hands' of artificial intelligence. The AI of the future will not only process information digitally; it will delve deeper into the physical world and genuinely assist us in managing cities to be safer, more efficient, and more livable," he noted.

Looking ahead, Dahua aims to continue collaborating with customers and partners to develop solutions for smart cities and to support ongoing digital transformations within urban settings.
