Veterans Find Healing and Community at Boundless Freedom Adventure Weekend

The Boundless Freedom: Veterans Adventure Weekend is set to take place from August 1 to 3, 2025, organized by the Adaptive Sports Connection (ASC). This exciting three-day event, held in collaboration with various partners including Save A Warrior and Wounded Warrior Project, aims to promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of veterans and their families through an array of exhilarating outdoor activities.

Veterans from across the country will converge at Recreation Unlimited, a vast 195-acre accessible outdoor campus in Ashley, Ohio, where they will engage in diverse activities such as Jiu-Jitsu, waterskiing, FlingGolf, and fishing derbies. All events are free for veterans and their families, encompassing meals, accessible housing, and experiences specifically designed to foster healing and social connectivity.

According to Sharon Bucey, ASC President and CEO, the weekend is a tremendous opportunity for veterans who have faced trauma from combat to come together, rebuild community ties, and benefit from the healing power of sports. “Boundless Freedom Weekend helps veterans build community and find healing through sports,” Bucey stated. “Physical activity and outdoor recreation serve as vital tools for enhancing the overall well-being of those who have served.”

The event kicks off on Friday with a keynote speech by the esteemed Dr. Ronald
