AIS and Toba College Unveil the Torakuru Arena
In a significant step towards embracing the future of the maritime industry, AIS (Artificial Intelligence Systems), a leading IT company specializing in core systems for the shipping industry, partnered with Toba College of Maritime Technology. This collaboration led to a special event held at the second gymnasium of Toba College, where they unveiled the Torakuru Arena, highlighting the themes surrounding digital transformation (DX) in shipping.
At the photogenic event, students actively participated in a photoshoot inspired by AIS's latest innovations. The centerpiece was the state-of-the-art training vessel, Toba Maru, coupled with the core concept of the unified system for crew members, called TRANS-Crew. The event aptly captured the theme of “opening the doors to a future driven by DX,” showcasing the vision of how students and future marine professionals can navigate a digitally advanced maritime world.
Future Doors
Throughout the gymnasium, students were encouraged to interact with the space designed specifically for this event, with visuals portraying Toba Maru under the morning sun as it rests at anchorage. Students were invited to push open a door that symbolizes access to the future enhanced by digital transformation. Behind this door lay a stunning visual representation of Toba Maru sailing into the future seas, harmoniously blended with imagery of TRANS-Crew's mascot, Smart Captain.
In addition to this immersive experience, strategic photo spots were set up near the entrances of the gymnasium, providing perfect backdrops for students to capture memorable moments. This feature not only encouraged participating students to enjoy their time but also aimed to promote sharing these experiences across social media platforms.
Meet Smart Captain
At the heart of the TRANS-Crew initiative is its image character, Smart Captain, representing the new-age seafarer who utilizes smart devices to facilitate a modern and efficient work environment. This endeavor aligns with the vision to illustrate the promising image of future maritime professionals through interactive installations that resonate with the students of Toba College.
