On December 16, 2024, HUAWEI organized the GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity at its Opéra flagship store in Paris. This event, led by two skilled illustrators, Mayada and Kenza, focused on showcasing the potential of digital art and the ease of expressing creativity through the GoPaint app, which is available on the Huawei MatePad series.

A Unique Artistic Experience


During this vibrant event, thirty participants delved into the realm of digital art alongside the illustrators. After an introduction to drawing techniques and how to effectively use the GoPaint app on the Huawei MatePad series, these participants had the opportunity to create their own artwork under the guidance of professional artists. Each attendee left with a special keepsake - their personal artwork printed on a tote bag, a unique way to cherish the experience.

Attendees could also test out the latest Huawei MatePad tablets and master the features of the GoPaint app, immersing themselves fully in the world of digital artistry. The artists provided insights into new techniques, enhancing their participants' understanding of the digital art landscape.

About the GoPaint Application


The GoPaint application has made waves globally, available on all of Huawei's tablets. It is a powerful and intuitive digital painting app that boasts over 150 preset brushes and more than 80 brush configurations. This provides artists with a captivating experience, allowing for expressive strokes that closely mimic the feel of pencil on paper. Some of the innovative features include 'splash' brushes and 'flowing' brushes that encourage limitless creativity.

One example is the 'splatter' brush which creates ink splatters by keeping the stylus about 12mm from the screen and tapping twice, adding a fun and interactive dimension to the artwork. The app also offers a variety of realistic textures that imitate materials like paper, silk, rice paper, and stone, making it feel as if one is drawing on real paper.

Moreover, the FangTian Painting Engine 2.0 empowers users with ultra-wide 8K canvases, multiple high-resolution layers, and a high frame rate of 120 fps.

Enabling Artists Worldwide


GoPaint aims to unlock the artist within everyone, facilitating the creation of digital masterpieces using various canvases and brushes, including ink, oil, or watercolor. During the event, participants had the chance to try out the GoPaint app on Huawei's latest tablets, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2 and the HUAWEI MatePad 12X, both featuring the innovative PaperMatte display. This technology developed by Huawei provides a natural feel akin to working on paper, allowing creations to be rendered smoothly and authentically.

The HUAWEI flagship store at Opéra in Paris has been an iconic location for the brand since 2020, continuing to deliver enriching experiences to customers.
