Exploring Cross-Border Experiences: A World Cafe Event to Share Real Stories

Cross-Border Experiences: A New Perspective

On December 9, Trustyyle will host an engaging event titled Cross-Border Pro Bono World Cafe, aimed at sharing real stories about experiences that transcend organizational and industry boundaries. This event will take place at the HR Library in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, and it promises to be a platform for participants to exchange insights and deepen connections.

In recent years, the concept of cross-border experiences has gained significant attention in talent development. This refers to activities and learning that occur beyond the confines of one's organization or industry. At the same time, pro bono work—where professionals volunteer their skills and expertise for social causes—has emerged as a transformative way for individuals to contribute to society while enhancing their own skill sets.

Despite the positive discourse surrounding cross-border activities, many individuals express hesitance about taking that first step. Common concerns include the difficulty of seeking out experiences and the lack of platforms to share these journeys. This event is designed to address these issues, providing a safe space for participants to discuss their real experiences related to cross-border activities.

Overview of the Event and Host Introduction

We are pleased to welcome Kei Kudo as our host, who brings firsthand experience of three pro bono projects. Kei has worked as an engineer at Nippon Steel Solutions since 2008, where he has contributed to system development projects for financial institutions while simultaneously serving as a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). His journey into pro bono work began as a response to career doubts, leading him to support various initiatives including developing a credo for a free school and streamlining neighborhood association tasks.

During the event, Kei will share his real-world experiences and insights gained from his pro bono activities, shedding light on the challenges and learning outcomes he faced.

Engaging World Cafe Format

Participants are invited to join in a relaxed setting, where they will engage in conversations about cross-border experiences and pro bono work through a World Cafe format. This method encourages intimate discussions in small groups, allowing diverse perspectives to arise. Through these interactions, individuals can broaden their horizons and obtain new insights.
