Toyota Motor North America Reports June 2025 U.S. Sales Results
Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has recently unveiled its sales results for June 2025, revealing a slight increase in overall vehicle sales compared to the same period last year. Notably, TMNA sold a total of 193,248 vehicles in June, marking a 0.1% increase in volume and a more robust 8.4% increase in terms of daily selling rate (DSR). Electrified Vehicle Surge
In June 2025, the company reported an impressive 90,426 electrified vehicle sales, representing a significant increase of 6.7% on a volume basis and 15.5% on a DSR basis. This figure constitutes 46.8% of TMNA’s total sales, underlining the growing popularity of electrified options among consumers. With a versatile lineup of 32 electrified vehicle models available in showrooms, TMNA holds the title of offering the most electrified options among automakers.
Quarterly Performance Highlights
For the second quarter of 2025, Toyota's sales reached 666,469 vehicles, reflecting a 7.2% increase on a volume basis compared to the same quarter last year. Electrified vehicle sales during this quarter totaled 320,817 units, showcasing a substantial increase of 29.7%, which constitutes 48.1% of total sales.
The Toyota division alone reported sales of 165,174 vehicles in June, marking a 0.2% increase in volume and an 8.6% rise in daily selling rate. For the second quarter, this division achieved sales of 570,546 vehicles, up 7.1% on a volume basis.
On the other hand, the Lexus division encountered a slight decline in June, with sales totaling 28,074 vehicles, down by 0.9% in volume but up 7.3% in DSR. Nevertheless, for the quarter, sales soared to 95,923 vehicles, reflecting an 8.1% increase on a volume basis.
Statement from Management
Mark Templin, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of TMNA, expressed satisfaction with the sales results, stating, "Steady demand for our Toyota and Lexus brands resulted in strong sales throughout the second quarter. Our lineup of 32 electrified vehicles was a significant factor in this demand, as they represented over 46% of our sales in June."
Notable Performance by Vehicle Models
In June, the Toyota Sienna saw exceptional growth, with sales up 73.9%, followed closely by Tacoma sales, which increased by significantly 48.4%. The popular Camry model showed resilience with a 10.6% increase, while the GR Corolla and Grand Highlander also saw respectable sales growth of 17.4% and 31.3%, respectively.
Conversely, the Lexus division highlighted a robust demand for specific models such as the NX, which grew by 15.6%, and the TX, which increased by a noteworthy 32.9%. The GX model is particularly noteworthy for its impressive 82.7% growth in sales.
