Discover the Rich Culinary Heritage of Fukushima at 'Fukushima Shaberu'
On August 30, 2026, an exciting experience awaits food lovers and families at the 'Fukushima Shaberu' event, hosted by Space One Co., in Bunkyo, Tokyo. This interactive project, supported by the Fukushima Tokyo Office, aims to deepen appreciation for the region's culinary culture through four engaging fan meetings.
A Unique Culinary Experience
The 'Fukushima Shaberu' initiative is all about connecting people with the delicious foods of Fukushima, alongside the artisans who create them. Attendees can immerse themselves in a range of activities: hearing stories from food producers, engaging hands-on in food preparation, and, importantly, sharing conversations that might lead to new friendships.
Morning Session: Miso Ball-Making Challenge for Parents and Children
The morning session, running from 10:15 AM to 12:00 PM, invites parents and children to participate in a unique Miso Ball-making challenge led by Masato Sanbe from Koji Wada-ya. Miso balls are a convenient preservation food that simply requires boiling water for a delightful miso soup. Through this hands-on experience, participants will learn about fermentation, the importance of food, and the passion behind its creation. Attendees will also enjoy dishes prepared by chef Yoichi Honda using seasonal ingredients and fermented foods from Fukushima, enriching their understanding of the region's vibrant food culture.
