Career Experience Program: DOMINISTA CHALLENGE
From October 23 to 24, 2025, Dormy Inn Asahikawa will host the DOMINISTA CHALLENGE, a program designed to enrich high school students' perspectives on careers. This initiative, organized by Kyoritsu Maintenance, emphasizes the importance of work and the essence of hospitality in today’s multicultural society. Over the past few years, Dormy Inn has welcomed more than 70 schools, with 22 from the Hokkaido and Tohoku regions, making this program an essential component of career education in Japan.
Purpose: Developing Career Awareness
The main aim of the DOMINISTA CHALLENGE is to equip students with necessary knowledge and attitudes that are pivotal for their future career paths. Through real-life experiences at Dormy Inn, they will not only learn about the hospitality industry but will also gain insights into customer service, teamwork, and community engagement. This program includes various hands-on experiences such as front desk operations, facility management, and food service in a safe and encouraging environment.
Schedule and Activities
Implementation Dates: October 23-24, 2025
Day 1 (10:00 AM - 3:00 PM) and Day 2 (9:30 AM - 3:00 PM)
During this two-day program, students will first engage in classroom learning, focusing on the joys and attractions of working in the hotel industry, as well as what hospitality truly means. Following this foundation, they will participate in the following activities:
- - Front Desk Operations: Students will practice customer service and the essential etiquette required in a hotel environment.
- - Facility Management: They will check guest rooms and prepare the public bath area prior to its opening.
- - Restaurant Experience: Students will have a tasting session to understand restaurant operations.
Insights from Asahikawa Shimine High School
According to a representative from Asahikawa Shimine High School, the internship aims to foster desirable work ethics and broaden students' career choices while enhancing their enthusiasm for learning. Participating students will undertake preliminary research on businesses and study business manners to maximize their learning experience during the program.
