DECKED Launches DTO Campaign to Help Dads Spend Quality Time with Kids

DECKED's Innovative DTO Campaign for Dads

As Father's Day nears, DECKED, based in Ketchum, Idaho, is taking a proactive step to aid working fathers in balancing their professional lives with their family commitments. The company has announced its newest initiative, the DTO (Dad Time Off) campaign, which aims to give dads the opportunity to create cherished moments with their children without the stress of lost wages.

The Challenge Fathers Face

A recent survey commissioned by DECKED highlights a concerning trend: approximately 65% of U.S. fathers reported missing significant family events due to work obligations. This statistic underlines the growing concern that the demands of modern work life often overshadow parental responsibilities, leading to emotional challenges for fathers torn between their jobs and their families.

Bridget Noonan, Senior Brand Director at DECKED, emphasizes the importance of being present for family moments that cannot be replaced. She states, "For many working dads, being present for their kids can mean missing out on a paycheck. So, for at least one day, we want to eliminate that tough choice for dads, allowing them to create memorable moments with their family."

However, the study reveals that even when fathers do manage to take time off for their children, many feel significant financial pressure. Over 43% of dads reported feeling stressed about their finances when they take time away from work, bringing into sharp focus the dilemma they face.

What the DTO Campaign Offers

The DTO campaign provides a unique solution. DECKED invites individuals to nominate hardworking fathers who would benefit from a day's break from work. This initiative will cover the lost wages for 100 selected dads, giving them a much-needed opportunity to enjoy time with their children.

To participate, anyone can submit a nomination for themselves or a deserving father they know through the DECKED website. The initiative not only aims to alleviate financial concerns but also fosters awareness of the importance of quality family time.

Encouraging Work-Life Balance

DECKED's approach reflects the changing attitudes around work-life balance. In the same survey, a significant 60% of fathers indicated that having a flexible work schedule or additional paid time off (PTO) could significantly enhance their ability to spend time with their children. This call for change underlines the need for companies to rethink how they support their employees in their roles as parents.

The DTO initiative aligns with DECKED’s broader mission of empowering individuals to maximize their time and enjoy what they love most. Noonan further adds, "We want to raise awareness about the challenges many fathers face today, allowing them to prioritize their roles as dads while managing their responsibilities."
