Watercrest Senior Living Group Celebrates Eight Years as a Great Place to Work

Watercrest Senior Living Group: A Model for Employee Satisfaction

Watercrest Senior Living Group proudly announces it has achieved the Great Place to Work® certification for eight consecutive years. This esteemed recognition, awarded by the Great Place to Work Institute in collaboration with its senior care partner, Activated Insights, underscores Watercrest's unwavering dedication to creating a nurturing and empowering environment for its associates across all southeast communities.

The certification process involved a thorough examination of employee experiences, with 95% of associates participating in a comprehensive survey. Key areas assessed included the onboarding experience, the perceived impact of each employee's work, and the overall significance of their roles within the organization. This attention to employee sentiment ensures that all voices are heard, regardless of position or title.

Marc Vorkapich, Principal and CEO of Watercrest Senior Living Group, emphasizes the principled service their organization upholds, stating, “Achieving eight consecutive years exemplifies Watercrest’s principles of service. Celebrating each associate's God-given talents has led to an environment where servant leaders unite to honor our elders.”

One unique aspect of Watercrest's recruitment strategy involves behavioral interviews designed to align new hires with the organization's mission and values from the outset. Associates proudly wear name badges that display their core values, affirming their commitment to serving seniors. Additionally, last year, the organization launched the campaign ‘We Are Watercrest’, encouraging employees to showcase their core values and contributions on social media using the hashtag #WeAreWatercrest.

A great workplace is often defined by its associates’ levels of trust, pride, and camaraderie. However, a truly exceptional workplace incorporates factors such as effective executive teams, innovation, complexity, and financial stability—all of which enhance the quality of the work environment for every employee. In the most recent survey, nearly 90% of Watercrest associates expressed that their work holds significant meaning and that they feel a tangible difference in their communities. One associate noted, “Watercrest feels like a second family. The management is supportive and genuinely values employee input, which makes a huge difference.” Meanwhile, another employee shared, “Watercrest goes the extra mile to support associates at all levels. It’s a great place to work with people who truly understand what the industry needs and wants. There is no place I would rather be.”

Joan Williams, Principal and CFO, stated, “Being named a Great Place to Work for the 8th consecutive year is a testament to the strength of our culture and the value we place on our associates. A positive workplace is an investment that delivers an exceptional experience for our team members, families, and residents.”

The recognition as a Great Place to Work includes all the senior living communities under the Watercrest umbrella, such as Market Street Memory Care Residence, Pelican Landing Assisted Living and Memory Care, and LifeBUILT Architecture.
