The Japan Resilience Award 2026: Call for Entries
The Japan Resilience Award 2026 is officially open for entries as of November 17, 2025, with a submission deadline set for January 16, 2026, at 5 PM. This prestigious award, now in its 12th year, aims to highlight innovative initiatives that contribute to the development of a resilient society geared towards future generations.
Organized by the Japan Resilience Promotion Council, based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, this award has played a pivotal role since its inception in November 2014. It acknowledges and honors leading enterprises and organizations committed to creating a robust national framework that encompasses urban, community, human, and industrial development.
From the 10th award ceremony in 2024, significant updates were made to further promote private sector contributions to national resilience by the Headquarters for National Resilience Enhancement, led by the Prime Minister. New awards, including the Prime Minister's Award and the Minister of National Resilience Award, were established to recognize outstanding achievements in resilience efforts.
The award consists of two main categories:
1.
Resilience Award which includes four subcategories - Corporate and Industrial, Local Governments, Educational Institutions, and NPO and Civic Activities. This award recognizes companies and organizations engaged in the development and sales of technologies, products, and services aimed at disaster prevention and national resilience.
2.
Community Planning Award that honors local governments for their exceptional planning and updates regarding community resilience initiatives.
Among the numerous applicants, awards to be presented include the Prime Minister's Award, Minister of National Resilience Award, Community Planning Award, Grand Prix, Runner-Up, Gold Award, Excellence Prize, and Good Award.
