CPAmerica's Next Generation Conference 2025
The CPAmerica, Inc. hosted its much-anticipated annual Next Generation Conference (NextGen) from June 11-13, 2025, at the luxurious JW Marriott Plant Riverside District in Savannah, Georgia. This event is a highlight in CPAmerica's calendar, with over 180 attendees representing 72 member firms, marking a successful gathering for professionals aiming to enhance their skills and networking abilities in the accounting industry.
A Platform for Emerging Leaders
The NextGen Conference is specifically tailored for senior members and managers from CPAmerica-affiliated firms. This year’s lineup of speakers was designed to inspire and educate attendees about vital leadership and management skills. The event kicked off with an engaging half-day pre-conference session led by Julie McPherson from The Rainmaker Companies. Many participants praised the interactive nature of this session.
“The pre-conference was fantastic. The content was well thought out, and the presenter was very engaging,” remarked Julia Stenberg from Widmer Roel PC.
Following this, a dynamic leader's panel set the tone for the main conference, featuring Brian Kush from Intend2Lead who steered captivating discussions with fellow panelists Denille Biddy of Rushton, John Cournan of Packer Thomas, and John Lauseng from Aldrich. Together, they shared insights about the evolving landscape of the accounting profession and offered perspectives on future trends.
Community Engagement
In alignment with their commitment to community service, attendees participated in a meaningful outreach project. Working alongside the United Way of the Coastal Empire, they assembled back-to-school kits for children living in transitional housing in Chatham County. This initiative reinforced the conference's ethos of contributing positively to society.
“I had a phenomenal experience at the conference. I met so many inspiring individuals and loved the depth of content presented,” said Alison Burgett from Gray, Gray & Gray, LLP.
A special acknowledgment goes to McGuire Sponsel for their sponsorship, which greatly supported the event's success. Cliff Austin and Kat Martin from McGuire Sponsel played an integral role in enhancing the conference experience and supporting member growth.
Looking Ahead
Excitement is already building for the next edition, scheduled for June 10-12, 2026, at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel in Seattle, Washington. This will provide another remarkable opportunity for emerging leaders in the accounting field to gather, learn, and grow together.
