Chery Aims for One Million HIMLA Off-Road Vehicles by 2027

Chery Automobile Co., Ltd has set an ambitious target to sell one million units of its newly launched HIMLA off-road vehicles within the next two years. This announcement came during the prestigious Shanghai Auto Show, which started on April 23, 2025. Chery introduced its global strategy under the banner 'Navigating the Future,' signaling a new chapter in its development efforts and international market approach.

The HIMLA series marks Chery's first foray into the pickup truck segment, catering to varied off-road needs and equipped with advanced gasoline, diesel, and new energy powertrains. Notably, this truck aims to redefine industry standards by merging utility with a comfortable passenger experience. Inspired by the majestic Himalayas, the HIMLA series reflects a commitment to versatility, demonstrating Chery’s resolution to become a leader in lifestyle-oriented automotive solutions.

In conjunction with the HIMLA launch, Chery also showcased its innovative Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) line, including models like TIGGO7 CSH and the flagship TIGGO9 CSH. These vehicles have already made headlines for their impressive performance, boasting an incredible range of over 1,400 kilometers on a single tank and fuel efficiency rates as low as 4.2 liters per 100 kilometers. As part of its family-centered ethos, the brand has initiated campaigns like 'Mission Impossible' and 'Life Without Borders,' aimed at enhancing mobility experiences for families around the globe.

Last year, Chery achieved sales of 640,000 vehicles, with their TIGGO7 model emerging as the best-selling A-class SUV. With a significant foothold now established in Europe, the company's global network of research and development includes eight research centers and ten manufacturing bases, ensuring that they can adapt to local market needs effectively.

The strategic move to innovate and diversify products points to Chery’s increasing role on the world automotive stage. By introducing the AI-powered robot AiMOGA and a robotic dog at the event, the company gave insights into its vision for the future of mobility. Emphasizing localization and hybrid technology, Chery is pursuing a dual goal of becoming a trusted choice for families worldwide and evolving into a global leader in technology and innovation.

The HIMLA series is not just another addition to Chery’s portfolio; it signifies the company's leadership ambitions and its readiness to compete with established automotive giants. As they embark on this journey, the focus on customer experience, environmental efficiency, and technological advancements will be pivotal in cementing their stature in the competitive landscape of the automotive industry. This latest announcement at the Shanghai Auto Show is a critical milestone in Chery’s path towards realizing its vision, aiming for excellence in both design and functionality for customers globally.
