Pal System's 'Job Experience' Program Educates and Engages Young People in Logistics and Delivery

Pal System's Engaging 'Job Experience' Program

Pal System, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, launched an exciting initiative called the 'Job Experience' program at its logistics and IT training facility in Inagi City. This summer, spanning 13 days, the program attracted 437 participants, showcasing the important role of delivery logistics in our daily lives. The initiative, supported by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, created an interactive educational environment for middle and high school students, as well as general public learners of various ages.

A Successful Summer Program with High Demand

The 'Job Experience' program featured state-of-the-art sorting machines and engaging multimedia resources, including original videos and interactive panels. The goal was to provide an enjoyable way to learn about the logistics of delivery services. Due to overwhelming demand, with more applicants than available spaces, Pal System organized an additional series of sessions to accommodate everyone who wanted to participate.

Participant feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with comments such as, “The time flew by,” and “My child is now interested in delivery jobs.” In surveys, an impressive 95% reported being very satisfied or satisfied with the experience, with 63% specifically stating they were very satisfied.

Special Programs for Youth

To further enrich the learning experience, Pal System hosted specialized programs during the summer, particularly focusing on middle and high school students with unique workshops. One notable session took place on August 4 and 5, aligned with the Tokyo Children’s Smile Movement. This initiative enabled students to explore logistics and information systems in depth, while also discussing vital topics like food waste reduction through sustainable practices.

Another noteworthy event was a joint program on August 21, combining a visit to the product inspection center and a hands-on 'experiment classroom.' Attendees were introduced to the science of food quality inspection using paper chromatography, experiencing firsthand how ink separation occurs when coffee filters are exposed to water.

Pal System’s inclusive approach also allowed a group of children with disabilities to enjoy tailored experiences through its after-school day service, ensuring accessibility for all.

Looking Ahead: Engaging Future Generations

As a leading provider, Pal System delivers over 10 million products weekly to 800,000 households. This program plays a significant role in educating participants about the technology and logistics behind reliable delivery services, as well as the benefits of modern digital transformation. It also emphasizes sustainable food systems by demonstrating how advance ordering helps minimize food waste.

Since launching the 'Job Experience' program in 2023, Pal System has successfully welcomed over 1,500 participants, with feedback highlighting the lively and informative nature of the program. Children noted the interest sparked by using tablets to navigate the shopping process, while parents commented on the valuable insights gained, both for themselves and their children regarding food choices.

The program will continue after September, with details and registration available via the following link: Registration Form.
