A Unique Creation from Tombow Umbrella
Celebrating 78 years in the umbrella-making industry, Tombow Umbrella Maehara Ko-ei Shoten has recently crafted a special luxury umbrella featuring a baseball bat handle, a remarkable nod to the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. This unique umbrella serves as an original merchandise item for the beloved baseball team, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
The Signature Bat Handle
Designed for baseball enthusiasts, this umbrella showcases an eye-catching bat-shaped handle adorned with the Carp logo as its tail. The bat handle was crafted by Yamazaki Sculpture Shop in Hiroshima, which also produced the original wooden bottle opener for the Carp merchandise in 2024. The handle is made from ebony, a rare hardwood known for its deep hue and elegant gloss. Over time, this material develops a rich patina that enhances its tactile quality, making it a joy to hold.
Custom Fabric with Logo
Tombow Umbrella took charge of both the fabric production and the umbrella's assembly. The fabric is a bespoke two-sided weave, displaying a navy exterior and a vibrant red interior, specifically developed for this umbrella. The sophisticated interplay of colors—with the understated navy contrasted by the elegantly visible red jacquard logo—brings forth a playful yet refined design.
Meticulous Craftsmanship
Every detail of the umbrella emits the passion and expertise of skilled artisans. Features such as a brass ball joint, meticulously polished middle rod, and fabric-wrapped ribs reflect the high-quality craftsmanship synonymous with Tombow Umbrella. Each piece is finely hand-stitched, ensuring durability and elegance in every stitch.
The umbrella's 16 ribs create a nearly circular silhouette, perfect for making a statement regardless of the occasion. Tombow Umbrella also provides repair services, allowing customers to cherish their beloved umbrellas for years to come.
A Testament to Uniqueness
This umbrella embodies a warm and substantial texture, its colors and aesthetic are truly one of a kind. The culmination of numerous artisans' skills results in an umbrella that is not just functional but also holds a special value that can be enjoyed for many years.
