CreatorWeek Macao 2025, a dynamic five-day event, successfully showcased Macao as a vibrant global creative hub. Co-organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Branded, this year's event brought together 185 content creator groups, whose combined audience exceeds 2 billion fans worldwide. The gathering attracted significant international attention, infusing Macao with renewed energy as it positions itself as a youthful and innovative tourist destination.
Throughout the week, participants engaged in enriching cross-cultural collaborations, exploring the unique blend of heritage and modernity that defines Macao. By providing a platform for sharing creative perspectives, CreatorWeek emphasized the city’s appeal in the eyes of a younger, global audience. Events spanned various venues, culminating in high-profile evenings at Wynn Palace Macau, where creators, industry leaders, and guests mingled, reflecting on the huge potential of creative economies.
The event kicked off with lively opening ceremonies and featured participation from noteworthy figures, such as Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, MGTO's Director, and influential creators like Alan Chikin Chow and Sean Does Magic. The conferences at Grand Lisboa Palace saw over 600 attendees diving into discussions regarding market entry, global expansion, and emerging trends in the creator economy, with leaders from platforms like YouTube and Meta joining the dialogue.
In an effort to merge wellness with creativity, four well-being workshops took place at MGM MACAU led by notable creators and fitness experts, combining mindfulness practices with creative engagement. The CreatorWeek MeetGreet, hosted at the Londoner Macao, drew more than 1,700 attendees, transforming online connections into real-world interactions with popular creators like Steven He and groups such as Berywam.
The cultural exchange flourished through two nights of CreatorWeek Live at Galaxy Macau, featuring performances from South Korean, Japanese, and Filipino artists, which celebrated creative diversity through music and art. Additionally, the CreatorWeek Academy welcomed about 120 emerging creators for hands-on training in content production and audience engagement, guided by industry leaders and established creators alike.
Lei's Adventure from Greater China shared insights on how the Belt and Road Initiative underscores Macao's historical role as a gateway for international connections, promoting the theme of “Going Global.” Mikey Bustos, a Filipino creator, emphasized the responsibility creators have in spreading positive influences through their talents to a global audience. As part of a unique collaboration, 20 international creators were paired with 20 local ambassadors to explore Macao's neighborhoods, which enhanced the authenticity of their storytelling through genuine cultural experiences.
Cheng Wai Tong, Acting Director of MGTO, expressed that content creators are today’s most impactful storytellers, capable of conveying Macao's multicultural tales and unique urban landscape to a vast audience sincerely and compellingly. He highlighted the event’s success not only in fostering luxurious creative outputs but also in generating substantial economic value for Macao’s creator economy and its youth tourism market.
Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes further elaborated on how evolving consumer behaviors and global communication are positioning the creator economy as a thriving industry filled with commercial potential.
