Celebrating Women's Empowerment with Hard Rock International and Shakira
In an inspiring move for International Women’s Day, Hard Rock International has announced an exciting initiative in collaboration with global superstar Shakira. As part of its annual celebration for International Women's Month, which takes place in March, Hard Rock has launched a year-long partnership aimed at empowering women globally through the universal language of music.
This initiative includes an ambitious plan to host
1,000 women-led performances during the month of March. These performances will not only highlight female artistry but also create opportunities for women to share their stories and connect authentically. The Hard Rock Heals Foundation will play a crucial role in this by raising funds to support local women's organizations around the globe and specifically benefitting
Shakira's Pies Descalzos Foundation. This charity is renowned for its commitment to improving education and social development for girls in Colombia’s marginalized communities. The foundation’s work is set to receive a generous contribution of
$250,000 from the Hard Rock Heals Foundation, underscoring the commitment to meaningful social change.
Shakira expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating,
“I’m excited to partner with Hard Rock, an organization with an incredible history of uplifting women through the power of music... Together we can use our voices to break barriers and make the world a more inclusive space where every woman feels confident being themselves.”
The partnership brings several exciting elements to fans. Shakira will bring her beloved dishes to Hard Rock Cafes for a limited time. Menu highlights include the vibrant
“Hips Don’t Lie” cocktail and a
Chicken Fattoush Salad, a nod to her Lebanese heritage, along with traditional Colombian meals like
Hamburguesa Colombiana and decadent desserts like
Dulce De Leche Hot Fudge Brownie. To top it off, Shakira’s signature will grace a special line of
t-shirts, hoodies, and pins, available at Rock Shops and online, allowing fans to show their support for the initiative.
Beyond menu items, the collaboration extends into various events. Shakira's involvement includes significant moments such as her
Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran album release party and appearances promoting the
Unity™ by Hard Rock loyalty program, showcasing their shared commitment to celebrating women through music. Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Partnerships, Elena Alvarez, highlighted the alignment of values, stating,
“This year, we encourage women to raise their voices, share their stories and lift each other up.”
Guests at Hard Rock Hotels will also enjoy a unique musical experience through the exclusive
Sound of Your Stay® program, featuring all-women Spotify playlists to enhance their stay. Additionally, guests can engage with vinyl records from ten iconic female artists available for enjoyment in their rooms.
This initiative marks a landmark effort by Hard Rock International and aims to inspire change, uplift women, and foster community connections through the power of music and storytelling.
