Hyundai Mobis Targets $200 Million Orders at Auto Shanghai 2025 with New Technologies

Hyundai Mobis at Auto Shanghai 2025

Hyundai Mobis is poised to make a significant impact at the upcoming Auto Shanghai 2025 by showcasing an array of cutting-edge technologies specifically designed for the Chinese market. Scheduled to open on April 23, 2025, Hyundai Mobis aims to secure approximately $200 million in orders, reflecting its commitment to expanding its footprint in the region.

With a booth covering 300 square meters at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai, Hyundai Mobis will create a private space dedicated to local automakers and global clients. This strategic move is intended to strengthen interactions with prospective customers following a challenging post-pandemic period. The company decided that a customer-centric marketing approach would yield better results than traditional exhibition strategies, given the expected high footfall at the event.

Hyundai Mobis has ramped up its marketing efforts in China, targeting collaboration opportunities with local brands and larger global automotive players. With predictions suggesting that Chinese car manufacturers may account for one-third of global vehicle sales by 2030, Hyundai Mobis recognizes the urgency to grow its presence in this lucrative market.

The company will unveil ten new technologies at the exhibition, featuring innovative products developed across its two Technical Centers located in Shanghai and Yantai. These centers serve as pivotal sites for research and development, focusing on pre-commercial technologies and tailored components for local manufacturers and international clients.

Among the star attractions at Hyundai Mobis's booth will be two newly developed technologies: an Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR-HUD) and a sound demo vehicle. The AR-HUD, developed at the Shanghai Technical Center, will display a high-resolution virtual 70-inch image directly on the vehicle's windshield, offering various driving information to enhance user experience. Its advanced visibility features ensure that critical information remains clear, even when viewed in bright sunlight or while wearing sunglasses.

The sound demo car, based on the popular EV6 model, integrates Hyundai Mobis's proprietary acoustic technology. This model is equipped with 47 speakers that aim to deliver an immersive, theater-like audio experience. Additionally, the Active Road Noise Control (ARNC) technology will provide a serene cabin environment, enhancing passenger comfort during travels.

Kim Deok Kwon, Senior Vice President and Chief of China Business at Hyundai Mobis, remarked on the company's ongoing efforts to cultivate new business opportunities in China. “We are strategically integrating our research and development, production facilities, and logistics networks to explore new avenues for global customers,” he stated. He further emphasized that understanding local consumer preferences would enable Hyundai Mobis to refine its offerings.

Established in Seoul, South Korea, Hyundai Mobis stands as the sixth-largest automotive supplier globally, showcasing exceptional capabilities in sensor technology, software development, and electrification components. With innovation at the forefront, the company aims to continue reinforcing its competitive advantage and meeting the dynamic needs of the automotive industry.
