Hard Rock International's Commitment to Sustainability Shines at Earth Hour 2025

Hard Rock International Celebrates Earth Hour 2025

On March 22, 2025, Hard Rock International extended its 'Save The Planet' initiative through a massive celebration of Earth Hour across its casinos, hotels, and cafes globally. This annual event, organized by the World Wildlife Fund, unites communities in a concerted effort to raise awareness about environmental conservation and sustainability.

This year, over 130 Hard Rock locations participated in a range of engaging, eco-friendly activities that did not rely on electricity, highlighting the importance of reducing energy consumption. Guest activities were designed to connect attendees with nature, engaging all five senses.

A Variety of Eco-Conscious Activities

Across the world, Hard Rock properties showcased a remarkable array of community and nature-inspired initiatives. Here’s a look at some key highlights:

  • - Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya organized an eco-tour alongside a community cleanup and a golf cart upcycle competition. Guests had the opportunity to indulge in yoga and hiking, fostering a reconnection with nature.
  • - At Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, visitors experienced 'Echoes of the Wild,' an immersive rainforest journey celebrating the vibrancy of nature. Notable naturalist Irshad Mobarak led powerful discussions on wildlife protection, and staff creatively upcycled old uniforms into denim backpacks, with the proceeds benefiting stingless beehives.
  • - Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta took to the beach for a clean-up campaign followed by a sandcastle-building contest, arts and crafts for children, and a cozy acoustic performance by candlelight.
  • - The Bali location hosted a 'Dine in the Dark' dinner featuring acoustic music while allowing guests to partake in unforgettable activities, like turtle releases and mangrove planting.
  • - In Punta Cana, the hotel organized beach cleanups and planting activities for children at the ROXITY Kid’s Club, complemented by competitive pool relay races, which collectively saw participation from 1,298 guests.

Continuing Environmental Engagement

The commitment to sustainability doesn’t end with Earth Hour. Throughout Earth Month and leading up to Earth Day 2025, Hard Rock will continue to engage its team members in various environmental initiatives. Customers who are part of the Unity™ global loyalty program will enjoy a 20% discount on candlelit concerts held at U.S. Hard Rock Hotels for the remainder of the year.

Paul Pellizzari, Vice President of Global Social Responsibility for Hard Rock International, stated, "We are proud to engage our guests and community in small actions that inspire wider change to protect the environment. We cherish our dedicated team members who help turn our 'Save The Planet' motto into action through innovative guest experiences."
