Celebrating Cultural Exchange Among Children
MIMARU, Japan's premier family apartment hotel brand managed by Cosmos Hotel Management Co., Ltd., recently hosted an innovative cultural exchange event at the ANO-NE Kids Club in Tokyo’s vibrant Ginza/Yurakucho district. Marking Children's Day on May 5, this gathering brought together 26 children from Japan and abroad, igniting a lively atmosphere of play, storytelling, and creativity.
The event was designed as a playful environment where children could engage freely in activities while their parents enjoyed independent leisure time around the city. This initiative aligns with the overarching mission of the ANO-NE Kids Club, which is to support modern family travel experiences.
During the gathering, children participated in bilingual storytelling, enjoyed interactive play, and explored traditional Japanese crafts. The seamless connections formed among these young participants were palpable, demonstrating how language barriers can evaporate in the face of shared experiences. Post-event surveys indicated an impressive satisfaction rate, with attendees rating their experience an average of 9 out of 10.
"Children inherently possess an adventurous spirit that sometimes adult travelers overlook," reflected Mao Mochizuki from the Management Planning Office at Cosmos Hotel Management. "As I observed the children playing together, it became apparent that adults often find themselves overly conscious of language barriers, while children naturally bond through play. Spaces like the ANO-NE Kids Club provide the perfect backdrop for these authentic connections."
The significance of the event was further underscored by the fact that over 50% of the club's visitors are families traveling from more than 30 countries and regions. This multicultural aspect fosters an environment where children, regardless of their background, can interact and form friendships. As Mochizuki pointed out, the aim of the ANO-NE Kids Club is to enable parents to unwind, knowing their children are safe and creating unforgettable memories of their own.
Surveys conducted after the event reaffirmed the parents' appreciation for this balance, allowing them to recharge while their children thrived in a supportive, engaging atmosphere.
With family travel solutions evolving, parents are increasingly seeking experiences that cater to both their children’s and their own needs during trips. "What we strive for at ANO-NE Kids Club is quite simple," Mochizuki added. "We want parents to take a deep breath and relax while their children forge new friendships and create cherished memories."
