Taiyo Group Conducts Leadership Training for New Employees
On April 24, 2026, the Taiyo Group hosted a distinctive leadership training program for 32 new employees at the Brillia Running Stadium, located within the
livedoor URBAN SPORTS PARK in Japan. This program, named the "Everest Training" simulation, draws inspiration from methodologies employed at Harvard Business School, focusing on decision-making and teamwork under extreme conditions.
Training Overview
The new employees participated in the
Everest Training, designed to cultivate key skills like cooperation, accountability, and leadership through simulated challenges that mirrored the difficulties faced during an Everest expedition. The Brillia Running Stadium served as the base camp for the training, where employees utilized iPads to encounter dynamically changing scenarios while on the move. This immersive learning environment is part of Taio Group's initiative to foster a unified corporate culture, referred to as
“One Taiyo”, encouraging all employees to work collaboratively towards mutual goals.
During the training, teams of 5 to 6 members were formed, each assigned unique roles and confidential information that prevented any single member from arriving at optimal solutions independently. This setup encouraged open communication between team members, promoting information sharing and fostering tight-knit collaboration. As teams confronted simulated adversities, ranging from harsh weather conditions to unexpected obstacles, they learned to rely on one another, ultimately leading to some teams successfully achieving the challenging goal of having all five members reach the summit together.
The Venue: livedoor URBAN SPORTS PARK
The training's location,
livedoor URBAN SPORTS PARK, opened its doors on October 12, 2024, as an urban sports hub spanning approximately 3.1 hectares. The park promotes a community-focused environment with facilities such as a skateboard park, bouldering walls, 3x3 courts, rope athletic courses, and spaces for dining and retail. The park was developed through a collaboration among
Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd., TSP Taiyo, and
Nippon Television Axon under the umbrella of
Tokyo Sports Wellness Village Co., Ltd. It aims to be a natural intersection for sports and community engagement.
Brillia Running Stadium: A Commitment to Sports
The
Brillia Running Stadium, constructed by Taiyo Kogyo, serves as a training facility aimed at aspiring Paralympians. It was built initially in December 2016 and relocated from Toyosu to Ariake in line with the URBAN SPORTS PARK's opening. Recognized for its innovative design and engineering, including a joint detail that facilitated relocation and the utilization of ETFE film membrane technology, it received the prestigious
Architectural Institute of Japan Award for its outstanding contribution to architecture.
