Discover the Culinary Charms of Miyagi and Yamagata at Seven-Eleven!

Seven-Eleven Japan Corporation, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has announced the launch of the "Miyagi and Yamagata Culinary Charm Discovery Fair" starting November 18, exclusively within the Tohoku region (Miyagi, Yamagata, Aomori, Iwate, and Akita). With a total of 1,029 participating stores in these prefectures, including 85 York-Benimaru locations in Miyagi and Yamagata, the fair aims to rediscover and promote the delicious local delicacies of these two regions.

This year marks the second installment of a popular cooperative venture with York-Benimaru, showcasing the exceptional produce of Miyagi, including the renowned "seri" (water celery) and Yamagata’s unique "Funagata mushrooms". A diverse lineup of eight gourmet products crafted from these ingredients will be unveiled, embodying the distinctive flavors of each region. A portion of the sales proceeds will also be donated to Miyagi and Yamagata to assist in addressing local community issues, ensuring that each purchase serves as a delicious affirmation of support for the regions.

Commitment to Local Food Production

Seven-Eleven actively embraces the concept of "local production for local consumption," shining a light on the diverse culinary cultures of each area and supporting local producers. Through the use of superior local ingredients, they aim to share the richness of regional cuisine with a wider audience and contribute to the revitalization of the community.

Last year, as part of the "Miyagi Food Kingdom Support Fair," a collaboration with York-Benimaru facilitated the sale of local ingredients in prepared foods and sweets, further promoting regional agriculture.
