BRP Expands Its Electric Vehicle Lineup with the Can-Am Outlander Electric 2026
On August 18, 2025, BRP Inc. (TSX: DOO; NASDAQ: DOOO) introduced the Can-Am Outlander Electric 2026, marking another milestone in the company’s mission to electrify the powersports industry. Designed for exceptional performance, durability, and an incredibly quiet ride, this all-terrain vehicle (ATV) strengthens BRP’s long-term commitment toward redefining how consumers experience outdoor adventures. The Outlander Electric is set to deliver an unparalleled blend of electric power and off-road exhilaration without the noise and emissions that are traditionally part of the ride.
Innovating the Off-Road Experience
The new Can-Am Outlander Electric seamlessly joins BRP's growing electric vehicle portfolio, which includes electric motorcycles like the Can-Am Pulse and Can-Am Origin. These electric motorcycles bring together modern design and cutting-edge performance capabilities, fostering a new era in off-road driving. BRP’s electric snowmobiles (Ski-Doo and Lynx) also feature an electric system that promises sustained performance with potent power and versatility.
José Boisjoli, BRP’s President and CEO, emphasized the strategic approach the company takes towards electrification. “At BRP, our focus on electrification is intentional, strategically electrifying in cases that make commercial sense while adding real value to our customers,” he explained. The Outlander Electric reflects this ethos, showcasing an innovative and sustainable approach to the powersports sector. It represents a significant step in BRP's strategy to lead in this technological evolution by enriching its product lineup with electrified experiences that resonate with existing combustion thrills.
A New Dawn for Electric ATVs
The Can-Am Outlander Electric 2026 redefines utility and adventure for various users, including farmers, ranchers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Powered by BRP’s modular Rotax E-Power motor, which is also used in its snowmobiles and motorcycles, this ATV produces an impressive 47 horsepower and 72 Nm of torque with a range of 80 km under optimal conditions. Users can savor immediate acceleration, and they will appreciate features such as selectable driving modes (Normal, Sport, Work) and rapid charging capabilities—reaching 80% in just 50 minutes with a level 2 charger.
What sets the Outlander Electric apart is its ultra-quiet operation. Enhanced with electric power, low-noise XPS Recon Force tires, optimized suspension, and silent cooling systems, it offers a smooth driving experience that allows users to connect with nature and navigate the outdoors without disruption. Despite its silent capabilities, it maintains impressive towing capacity at 830 kg, rugged off-road performance, and provides over 120 accessories for users to customize their rides according to their preference.
Julie Tourville, Global Marketing Director of Can-Am Off-Road at BRP, highlighted, “With the Outlander Electric, we are not only introducing a new ATV but a new way to engage with the outdoors and tackle any task. This vehicle is engineered to allow sports enthusiasts and workers alike to feel more connected to their surroundings.”
Celebrating Success in the Motorcycle Category
One year following the successful debut of the Can-Am Pulse and Origin motorcycles, BRP’s return to the motorcycle market has been met with enthusiasm. Supported by a growing network of 265 dealerships worldwide, these fully electric bikes aim to elevate both urban commuting and dual-sport exploration, integrating ease of use with thoughtful design.
Equipped with a BRP liquid-cooled battery system boasting 8.9 kWh for up to 160 km of urban range, the bikes accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under four seconds. User feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, appreciating the high-torque experience, smooth handling, and quiet confidence in various terrains.
Leading the Electric Snow Mobile Revolution
In 2023, BRP debuted its first electric snowmobiles via the Ski-Doo and Lynx brands, introducing four electric models catered primarily to tour operators, ski resorts, and now available to the general consumer. These models facilitate emission-free exploration into natural spaces and have early adoption among specialized establishments through BRP's dedicated adventure network, Uncharted Society, which has allowed the company to enhance its platforms while delivering real performance in some of the world’s premier recreational environments.
BRP: Pioneering the Future of Electrified Powersports
BRP maintains its exclusive leadership as a powersports OEM with more electric models across various categories. Each electric vehicle from BRP is meticulously designed for specific applications, be it silent movement through snow, speedy urban excursions, or demanding labor in farming environments. This diversity reflects BRP’s profound understanding of its global customer base and the innovative possibilities of vehicles that maximize value.
With development centers in Valcourt (Quebec, Canada), and Gunskirchen (Austria), along with assembly plants in Mexico and Finland, BRP is the only powersport OEM with an integrated electric modular powertrain covering batteries, converters, motors, chargers, and software controls. This strategy endows BRP with unmatched agility, performance, and consistency in charging, facilitating long-term electrification expansion across its product lines.
