Chery's Ambitious Sales Goals at the Shanghai Auto Show
At the opening of the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show on April 23, Chery Automobile Company unveiled a bold new global strategy themed "Navigating the Future." During this event, they announced a remarkable target: to achieve annual global sales of one million vehicles over the next two years. This ambitious plan includes the introduction of the HIMLA SUV, designed for varied terrains, as well as their first series of pickup trucks.
Chery's reputation precedes it, having built a solid recognition among nearly 3,000 dealers and media outlets worldwide. Their focus on family-friendly, safe vehicles has garnered them a loyal customer base in 97 countries. By embracing hybrid technology and deepening their local market engagement, Chery aims to become the go-to choice for families globally.
With impressive technological advancements at play, Chery showcased its Super Hybrid (CSH) models, including the TIGGO7 CSH, TIGGO8 CSH, and their flagship, the TIGGO9 CSH. These models recently completed a rigorous endurance testing phase dubbed "Endless Horizon Worry-Free Voyage," achieving significant milestones such as traveling over 1,400 kilometers while consuming just 4.2 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.
In their pledge to cater to families more effectively, Chery will launch initiatives such as "Mission Impossible" and "Life Without Limits," which aim to deliver excellent mobility solutions for families around the world. In 2024, Chery reported global sales of 640,000 vehicles, with the TIGGO7 becoming the best-selling A-class crossover. Moreover, they made successful inroads into the European market as part of their global expansion.
Chery's global research and development network, which consists of eight research centers and ten production bases, underlies their strategy. They adhere to the philosophy of "In somewhere, For somewhere," tailoring their vehicles to meet local needs while reinforcing their global strategy.
The introduction of the HIMLA series of pickups marks a significant diversification of Chery’s product portfolio. Designed for versatility across different terrains, the HIMLA line draws inspiration from the Himalayas and features gasoline, diesel, and next-generation energy powertrains. This move not only expands their lineup but also transitions pickups into a premium, passenger-oriented category.
Additionally, Chery showcased its innovative prowess in artificial intelligence with demonstrations of the AiMOGA robot and a robotic dog, giving attendees a glimpse into the future of mobility through the company’s vision. With a steadfast commitment to family orientation, a robust R&D framework, and a diversified product strategy, Chery is well-positioned to navigate future challenges and opportunities in the automotive industry.
This strategic rollout could be a turning point as the company engages in direct competition with leading automotive manufacturers worldwide. As Chery seeks to solidify its place as a global technology leader, the stage is set for a transformative era in the automotive market, fueled by innovation and a customer-first approach.
Chery’s ambitious sales targets, combined with their diverse product offerings, indicate a bright future ahead within an ever-evolving landscape of automotive technology and consumer demand.
