Mitsubishi Motors Unveils Its First Gallery Dealership Opening in Tennessee
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is on the verge of a significant milestone with the upcoming inauguration of its first Gallery dealership in the U.S. The new facility, situated in Antioch, Tennessee—just southeast of Nashville—will be the first of its kind, created in collaboration with City Auto Mitsubishi based in Murfreesboro. The renovations for this unique dealership commenced in August 2025, and the grand opening is anticipated in July 2026.
This innovative dealership model is part of Mitsubishi's broader 'Momentum 2030' business strategy aimed at modernizing the retail sales experience across the country. The Gallery dealership concept is designed to elevate brand awareness, enhance customer interactions, and present Mitsubishi vehicles in a fresh and inviting format. These establishments will be strategically positioned in busy commercial areas and owned by existing Mitsubishi dealer partners, serving as an extension of their current sales operations.
At the Antioch Gallery dealership, customers will not be able to purchase vehicles onsite. However, the location will serve as an informative space where visitors can learn about the Mitsubishi brand, explore different vehicle options from City Auto's inventory, and initiate the purchase process through the ClickShop online platform. The online interface allows potential buyers to get a head start on the paperwork required to finalize their vehicle purchase, with the actual transaction occurring at City Auto's primary showroom, located a mere 20 minutes away.
Mark Chaffin, the president and CEO of MMNA, expressed enthusiasm for this revolutionary approach. He noted that it differentiates Mitsubishi Motors from its competitors, offering a new, more welcoming experience for customers interested in learning about their vehicles and the brand's philosophy. This initiative is expected to significantly benefit both MMNA and local dealerships, particularly in the Nashville region where the Gallery store is established.
The Gallery dealership is a vital element of the brand's 'Momentum 2030' plan, which highlights four crucial avenues for growth: advancing toward electrification, refreshing and expanding the product lineup, modernizing retail sales models, and increasing network reach and sales performance.
The Antioch facility is located at 4230 Century Farms Terrace, Suite 106, within the Century Farms development—a planned mixed-use area featuring retail, office, and entertainment options, conveniently situated at Exit 60 from Interstate 24. As this proof-of-concept dealership proves successful, there are plans to encourage other Mitsubishi dealer partners throughout the U.S. to implement their own Gallery dealerships.
Mitsubishi Motors has shown a deep commitment to Tennessee since relocating its national headquarters to Franklin in 2019. To further engage residents, the company is offering a $1,000 purchase incentive to eligible Tennessee residents looking to buy a new 2025 or 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. This incentive is applicable alongside other existing offers and is available until May 31, 2026.
The brand is proud of its reputation for delivering America’s Best-Backed Vehicles, including three SUV models under $30,000 MSRP, coupled with outstanding warranty and care programs. Additional details about Mitsubishi's complete vehicle lineup can be found at MitsubishiCars.com.
Despite facing challenges in the market, such as a recent 15% drop in first-quarter sales, MMNA's future looks promising as it leaps into modern retail strategies and product diversity for the upcoming years. According to Ipsos NVCS data, a staggering majority of compact CUV owners who shopped for Mitsubishi's Outlander ended up purchasing one, showcasing the strong brand loyalty and satisfaction among its customers.
