The run kicks off early from the TurfMutt Foundation Great Lawn at Waterfront Park, where participants will cross the scenic Ohio River via the historic Big Four Pedestrian Bridge. This event is a unique opportunity to not only enjoy breathtaking views of downtown Louisville but also contribute to a worthy cause, as all funds raised will directly support the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS).

Following the fun run, on Thursday, October 22, the excitement continues with the 8th Annual Mulligan's Mutt Madness pet adoption event. This takes place in Mulligan's Garden Park, a specially crafted indoor green space resembling a real park, where potential pet owners can meet, play with, and adopt rescue dogs. Since its inception, Mulligan's Mutt Madness has successfully matched over 130 shelter dogs with loving homes, marking a significant impact on the community.

Kris Kiser, the President and CEO of the TurfMutt Foundation, highlights the dual purpose of these events. “Whether you’re catching the sunrise over the Ohio River during the 5K or strolling through Mulligan’s Garden Park at Equip to meet a dog who needs a home, it all comes back to appreciating our green spaces and the pets who enjoy them with us,” said Kiser. His personal experience of adopting Mulligan during Mutt Madness in 2019 adds a heartfelt dimension to this community celebration.
