YKK AP Unveils Exterior Garden at P-STAGE Kanazawa

On July 8, 2023, YKK AP Co., Ltd., headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, inaugurated a new outdoor proposal facility called the "Exterior Garden" within P-STAGE Kanazawa. This innovative space is aimed at professional users and seeks to provide comprehensive coordination proposals for buildings and exteriors.

The Exterior Garden showcases large products at real-life scale, allowing visitors to experience outdoor and garden spaces through themed displays. It is a place where users can witness the unique fusion of exterior products and greenery, thereby promoting added value in residential outdoor spaces.

The Significance of Exterior Garden

In the Hokuriku region, known for its cold climate, the prevalent approach to exterior product proposals has been standalone offerings, particularly high-snow-load carports. With the establishment of the Exterior Garden, YKK AP emphasizes the effective use of exterior and garden spaces by showcasing not just products but integrated space solutions that include landscaping.

The design concept for the Exterior Garden was overseen by Yoshiharu Konishi, a green coordinator from Tanushimaru Landscape Construction Co., Ltd., located in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture. The Creative Design LAB at YKK AP's Exterior Division executed the design proposals, using perspective drawings to effectively guide professional users. By integrating greenery with design frames and metal materials, the exhibition spaces are fashioned in a manner that seamlessly fits modern residential aesthetics. Furthermore, to resonate with the tranquil atmosphere of the Hokuriku region, the design offers a refined, Japanese-modern style.

At night, the garden comes alive with low-voltage lighting by "VIEW UP," enhancing the beauty of the surroundings.

The facility primarily welcomes local professional users, providing inspiration for their proposals by demonstrating these innovative spaces. A cohesive display demonstrating the integration of entryways and outdoor structures serves to enhance awareness for YKK AP's total coordination solutions, melding buildings with exteriors.

In this area, the exterior and garden scenes are showcased effectively. The spacious deck zone allows users to experience the scale of outdoor spaces firsthand. By enclosing the property with design frames and tall trees, YKK AP proposes a balance between openness and privacy, giving visitors a sense of light filtering through leafy canopies. The carport zone is creatively suggested for uses beyond mere vehicle storage; a deck can be installed under the carport, providing an alternative living space for relaxation.

Green Canvas Area

This exhibit features a refined display where the sharp lines of metal materials juxtapose beautifully against lush greenery. Maintaining a consistent height accentuates the horizontal lines in the design. The overall color palette of deep brown wood tones paired with neutral shades reflects Kanazawa's Japanese-modern style, while also providing a spacious setting suitable for events.
