The launch event, themed "Sharing the Future," took place in Mainz, Germany, symbolizing a grand step in the company's European journey.
This ambitious move represents a crucial phase in ChangAn's global strategy, aptly named the "Vast Ocean Plan," which underlines its commitment to technological innovation and sustainable practices. With an entirely integrated European ecosystem encompassing research, production, supply chains, sales, and operations, ChangAn is poised to deepen its connections with European consumers. The company is making substantial investments in local talent and partnering with regional stakeholders to enhance the future of intelligent and sustainable mobility.
During the launch, ChangAn showcased the DEEPAL S07, marking its debut in the European market. The presentation also included previews of the CHANG-AN E07 and the DEEPAL S05, designed to meet the growing demand for high-performance electric vehicles across Europe. The emphasis on cutting-edge technology in electrification and intelligence positions ChangAn as a significant player in this competitive landscape.
ChangAn's dedication to innovation has gained global recognition, supported by a collaborative R&D network that spans six countries with ten major international locations. The company boasts a workforce of over 18,000 R&D specialists from 31 different countries, along with 16 technological research centers and collaboration with 180 laboratories, including national facilities. As ChangAn embarks on its European venture, it has devised a structured market entry strategy focusing initially on key electric vehicle hubs such as Norway, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The company aims to establish a footprint in every major European market by 2028. ChangAn's European headquarters will be based in the Netherlands, serving as the nerve center for its business operations, while its sales units have been established in Munich, Germany. Currently employing around 500 professionals across Europe, including seasoned designers and engineers from Italy and the UK, ChangAn is committed to nurturing local talent to foster innovation and deepen its market presence.
Zhu Huarong, President of ChangAn Automobile, expressed excitement at the launch, stating, "It is a pleasure to be here in Germany. ChangAn is an open and collaborative enterprise driven by a clear mission to lead sustainable mobility and enhance human life." He further shared the ambitious targets for the upcoming year, aiming for three million units sold globally, one million of which will be electric vehicles. By 2030, ChangAn plans to sell five million vehicles yearly, three million of them being electric.
