The city of Itabashi is set to host the 26th Gender Equality Forum on Saturday, November 29, aimed at fostering discussions about challenges and solutions toward creating a society of gender equality. This event will take place at the Itabashi Green Hall, located at 36-1 Sakaemachi, Itabashi-ku, Tokyo.
Alongside the forum, an Ethical Consumption Exhibition will be held, emphasizing consumer behaviors that respect people, society, and the environment.

One notable highlight is the keynote speech focusing on legal and gender perspectives, delivered by lawyer Yoshiko Miwata, who was one of the first female lawyers in Japan and the model for the protagonist of the NHK drama 'Tora ni Tsubasa'.
Yoshiko will explore the concept of challenging societal norms through the lens of the historical figure she represents, prompting reflections on how far society has come in terms of gender equality.

1. Exploring Nordic Picture Books

- Speaker: Ayuko Uekura (Associate Professor, Tokai University)
- Location: Room 601
- Capacity: 50 participants (First-come, first-served basis, registration starts on October 27 at 9:00 AM)

2. Interactive Workshop on Body Awareness
- Time: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
- Speaker: Rei Mikami (Co-founder of READY BOX)
- Location: 1st Floor Hall
- Target Audience: Children and parents (20 pairs of parents and children; first-come, first-served registration, starting October 27 at 9:00 AM)

3. Community Building with Foreign Residents
- Co-hosted by: Narimasu Town School NMK
- Time: 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM
- Capacity: 20 participants (First-come, first-served basis)

Additional Activities


Other engaging activities include a 'Colorful Buttons Art Workshop', play areas for children, and a market featuring snacks and drinks. Participants can also enjoy a stamp rally, with prizes for those who complete it.

Ethical Consumption Exhibition

The Ethical Consumption Exhibition will focus on educating participants about environmentally friendly and socially responsible consumer behaviors, with workshops covering topics like creating space in life through simplified living.
