Celebrating 100 Years of GODIVA: An Exhibition of 100 Words of Happiness

100 Years of GODIVA: 100 Words Exhibition

In 2026, GODIVA celebrates its centennial, marking 100 years of crafting exquisite chocolates that evoke memories of joy across the globe. To commemorate this milestone, GODIVA Japan is hosting a special exhibition titled "100 Words of GODIVA". Taking place from January 15 to January 17, 2026, at the Shibuya Scramble Square Scene 12, this event invites chocolate lovers and brand enthusiasts to explore the narrative of GODIVA through 100 carefully selected words.

Emerging from a small workshop in Brussels, Belgium, GODIVA has enchanted hearts for a century. Each piece of chocolate is not merely a confection but a crystallization of memorable happy moments. The exhibition showcases a blend of storytelling and chocolate artistry through words, archival materials, production tools, and three-dimensional displays.

Visitors can appreciate the history of GODIVA—a journey beginning with the founding family’s passion for creating delightful chocolates, through significant milestones such as the brand’s expansion to New York in 1972, and the ongoing ‘playfulness’ that characterizes its future. This playful spirit will be illustrated through the 100 Words that reflect the brand's essence, philosophy, and craftsmanship.

The 100 Words of GODIVA include phrases such as "8g of Happiness" and "Food of the Gods," embodying the passion of the original family founder, Pierre Draps, and the current six world-renowned chefs who continue to inspire through their creations. Each word weaves together a small story that connects you to GODIVA, capturing feelings of love, gratitude, and moments of joy that brighten daily life. These expressions transcend mere information, inviting guests on a journey where cacao, transformed through artisanal skills, becomes a vibrant gift for life’s celebrations.

Additionally, a standout feature of the exhibition will include an impressive chocolate piece created by Executive Chef Patissier Yannick Choux, designed specifically for the event. This exquisite piece embodies the limitless possibilities of chocolate and promises to mesmerize all who attend.

GODIVA adheres to its mission, "We Create Memorable Occasions of Happiness," ensuring that the bond between innovation and tradition remains steadfast as it moves into the next century. Attendees will have the chance to engage deeply with the enduring allure of GODIVA and chocolate, fostering appreciation and sweetness in shared experiences.
