Showcasing the Dazzling Golden Figures of Shohei Ohtani at Nihonbashi Takashimaya

Nihonbashi Takashimaya's Glorious Golden Exhibition

From April 8 to April 13, 2026, Nihonbashi Takashimaya will host the magnificent "Great Golden Exhibition," showcasing over 1,000 gold products. This six-day event will feature special exhibitions, including lifesize golden statues of Shohei Ohtani, the dual-threat superstar of Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers. The exhibition will present two standout figures, "Golden Batter Shohei Ohtani" and "Golden Pitcher Shohei Ohtani," crafted under the official approval of Ohtani himself by the renowned gold artisans at SGC over a period of two years.

The batting figure employs a staggering 1,550 gold leaf layers and stands approximately 1.9 meters tall (2.4 meters when including the bat's tip), while the pitching statue comprises 1,450 gold leaf layers and reaches about 1.7 meters. The reference prices are notably linked to Ohtani's remarkable records in 2024, including the celebrated feat of accomplishing 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season. The individual prices for each statue are set at 50 million yen excluding tax (55 million yen including tax), culminating into a staggering 100 million yen excluding tax (111 million yen including tax) for both figures combined.

Ohtani’s Pure Gold Collection

In addition to the golden figures, a special collection titled "Shohei Ohtani Pure Gold Collection" will be launched, featuring a medal crafted from 100 grams of pure gold with a diameter of 5.4 centimeters. Two varieties will be available: a batter and a pitcher, each priced around 9,614,000 yen. Furthermore, pure gold figurines will also be offered, including "K24 Batter Shohei Ohtani," "K24 Pitcher Shohei Ohtani," and "K24 Dual-Role Shohei Ohtani" in both 1/10 and 1/20 scales.
