Engaging Real Estate Experiences for Kids at Fukushima Elementary School
In a commendable initiative, Open House Group, through its Kansai branch, organized an interactive class about real estate for elementary school students attending Fukushima Elementary School in Osaka. The event, held during the spring break, aimed to expose young minds to the educational aspects of the real estate industry.
This program is part of Open House Group's ongoing commitment to actively participate in children's education by regularly offering interactive lessons across communities. A request came from Fukushima Elementary, expressing a desire to provide students with a distinctive experience during their break, aligning perfectly with the company’s educational initiatives.
On the day of the event, the children were immersed in the various roles within a real estate company. Interactive activities included a fun quiz about housing, crafting wooden keychains, and creating personalized “Junior Real Estate Agent” certificates. During the certificate-making activity, participants learned about the qualifications necessary to become a licensed real estate agent and had the opportunity to personalize their certificates with their drawings and names.
Throughout the session, students showed a great interest, asking questions like, "What made you join Open House?" and "What is the most expensive house you’ve sold?" This enthusiasm continued to build, necessitating a pause to accommodate their curiosity.
Later, participants engaged in the creative process of making wooden keychains. The materials used were upcycled wood remnants from flooring, emphasizing sustainability. Each child was encouraged to write their goals for the school year on the keychains, which they decorated with colors, drawings, and their names. To foster a supportive environment, parents were invited to write encouraging messages on the keychains, reinforcing the idea of commitment to their aspirations.
The goals expressed by the children varied widely, from personal challenges like learning to master the backward roll in gymnastics to heartfelt notes of gratitude such as “I love my mom.” Open House Group is dedicated to continuing its efforts to support children in their educational journeys and developments.
According to Mr. Bingo, the representative from Fukushima Elementary School’s activity room, the objective was to engage children with the concepts of community living and environmental awareness. They aimed for students to contemplate how they can contribute to society and the environment, learning through practical experiences and nurturing a strong sense of values and dedication.
