As the year comes to a close, the anticipation of the New Year's celebration begins, especially at Tour d'Argent Tokyo. Renowned for its elegance and gastronomic excellence, this iconic restaurant offers a unique dining experience designed to enchant its guests during the holiday season.
New Year Festivities: Dinners and Lunches
Located within the luxurious Hotel New Otani in Tokyo, Tour d'Argent Tokyo brings the spirit of its Paris counterpart, a historic culinary institution with over 400 years of rich history, to the heart of Japan. From December 26, 2025, to January 4, 2026, the restaurant presents the
DÉJEUNER du NOUVEL AN, an elegant evening dinner. Following closely, the
DÎNER du NOUVEL AN will be served from January 1 to January 4, 2026, celebrating the new year with a delectable lunch.
With dishes prepared by the acclaimed Executive Chef Renaud Augier, who is a recipient of the prestigious M.O.F. (Meilleurs Ouvriers de France) award, this festive menu is a true highlight of the culinary calendar. Chef Augier’s commitment to using seasonal ingredients and crafting intricate dishes ensures that each meal is a visual and gastronomic delight.
The Mastermind Behind the Culinary Marvel
Renaud Augier, born in 1981 in Grenoble, France, found his calling in cooking at the tender age of 16, influenced by his grandmother, who ran a restaurant. His professional journey includes experiences at prestigious establishments, including
Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo and
Domaine de Relais. Chef Augier was appointed as the Executive Chef at Tour d'Argent Tokyo in 2013 when he was just 32 years old. His accolades include not only the M.O.F. award in 2019 but also the French agricultural merit award anticipated in 2024.
Highlighted Dishes: A Culinary Journey
Chef Augier's festive menu offers exquisite plates that highlight his culinary expertise. For dinner, guests can look forward to:
- - MÉROU masqué de farce de Saint-Jacques, crozets à la crème d’abondance et sauce Vermouth. This dish features a delicate soufflé made from Hata fish and scallops, wrapped in a luscious vermouth sauce enriched with fragrant herbs and spices.
- - CANETON à la Périgueux, topinambour à la Dauphinoise parfumé de cardamome noire et betterave jaune. This roasted duck dish merges the rich flavors of spring vegetables and a robust black truffle sauce to create a deep, memorable experience.
Lunch service will also showcase the chef's signature style, ensuring that every bite is a celebration.
Sweet Traditions: Le Gala des Rois 2026
Adding to the New Year festivities, Tour d'Argent Tokyo will also offer the traditional French dessert
GALETTE des ROIS from December 30, 2025, to January 25, 2026. This delightful cake, made of flaky puff pastry and almond cream, carries the tradition of hiding a small figurine inside, allowing one lucky diner to be crowned 'King' or 'Queen' for a day. This dessert not only serves as a sweet treat but also brings a fun and engaging Italian cultural experience to the new year, perfect for sharing with family and friends.
