The event, themed "Thanks Earth! Actions We Can Take for the Planet: What is Biodiversity?", will explore the various aspects of biodiversity, including definitions, interconnections with human lifestyles, and the necessity for conservation measures. This enlightening discussion will be led by Jun Nakajima, an esteemed researcher associated with the Kyushu University Museum and a member of the Japan Society for Conservation of Fish.
Meet the Speaker: Jun Nakajima
Nakajima is well recognized for his expertise in the observation and research of aquatic organisms. On social media, he runs an account called 'Oikawa Maru,' where he showcases breathtaking photographs of freshwater fish and insects, sharing the fascinating world of biodiversity with his followers, nearly 50,000 strong. His dedication not only enriches public knowledge about aquatic life but also encourages action towards conservation. He has authored notable books such as "Creating a Wetland Biotope at Home: Building Water Areas That Protect Biodiversity" and has a strong background in ecology, taxonomy, and the protection of wetland ecosystems.
