HANA ROOM: A New Floral Experience



The delightful world of flowers is set to bloom at the HANA ROOM pop-up shop, a unique collaboration between Hibiya Kadan, a prominent floral company, and Mukogawa Women's University. Opening its doors for two days from January 31 to February 1, 2026, at Lalaport Koshien in Nishinomiya, Hyogo, this event is designed to resonate with the younger Z generation and infuse joy into everyday lives.

This venture originates from a collaboration that began in the academic year of 2021 between Hibiya Kadan and the students of Mukogawa Women's University. In the previous project held in August 2024, Hibiya Kadan, as the leading entity, introduced students to the intricacies of the retail business and the flower industry by presenting challenges and encouraging innovative product designs tailored to address them. This allowed students to grasp the fundamental mechanisms of the retail business and the nuances of profit structure.

For HANA ROOM, the students leveraged their acquired experience by not only conceptualizing the products but also delving deep into the narrative behind the project. They asked themselves critical questions like, "Why do we want to share this project?" and "What kind of floral experience do we wish for our customers to enjoy?" Focusing on creating a connection with their peers, the students developed the concept of delivering a personalized floral experience for themselves under the motto, "Delivering a flower-infused time for oneself!" By aligning Hibiya Kadan’s extensive floral expertise with the authentic voices of the students, they were able to conceptualize products that embody individual emotions and curate a shop space that reflects this vision.

At HANA ROOM, products are designed not just as gifts but as essential items for self-care and expression of one’s favorite characters or inspirations in daily life. This innovative shop will feature an array of offerings including:

  • - 「Oshi Nuich Flower Crown」 (Push Plush Flower Crown) - Priced at 1,000 yen, it is a crown of flowers for plush toys, tailored for the Z generation's affinity for 'oshi' culture. With a variety of colors, customers can choose crowns that fit the image of their favorite plush companions, crafted with durable artificial flowers, ensuring they can be taken anywhere.

  • - 「Oshi Hana Trading Card Case」 - Available for 800 yen, this case showcases pressed flowers that embrace cherished photographs or mementos, transforming them into a unique ornament filled with personal significance.

  • - 「Custom Flower Bar」 - For 2,000 yen, this workshop-style experience allows participants to create personalized floral arrangements tailored to their individual aesthetics and preferences, promoting creativity and artistic expression through flowers.

  • - 「Flower Cafe Set」 - Priced at 1,300 yen, this set caters to self-care enthusiasts, offering a mini bouquet for visual pleasure and a floral herbal tea for tasting joy, using dried flowers that can be appreciated long after purchase.

On the opening days, Mukogawa students will be present to engage directly with customers, each product intricately tied to their passion and ideas brought alive in the products. This initiative represents Hibiya Kadan’s commitment to fostering practical business opportunities for the next generation while advancing local and industry revitalization through floral engagement.
