With the ultimate goal of transforming Ebisu into a vibrant hub of innovation, the project aligns with Sapporo's strategic actions outlined in their “Ebisu Urban Development Strategy,” launched in December 2025. Circular Renovation Practices: In response to rising construction costs and environmental concerns, the office has implemented circular renovation practices, partnering with Semba Co., which focuses on sustainability. This entails reusing materials from the Osaka-Kansai Expo and employing eco-friendly paint made from denim waste, thus lowering environmental impact during the interior revamp.

3. Reflecting Local History and Originality: An innovative aspect of the renovation involves a collaboration with Kobayashi Fire Protection Co., founded in Ebisu in 1867, to integrate local character into the office design. The team utilized remnants from the manufacturing of fire-retardant clothing to create bespoke items reflecting the essence of Ebisu, such as handcrafted curtains and art pieces prominently displayed within the office space.

The durable fabric used in fire-retardant suits required advanced skills for assembly. The outcomes intentionally embrace the unique characteristics of the materials, transforming functional waste into artistic representations of local heritage and culture.
