Collaborative Development of Project Motor Racing with Tetsuya Yamano

Project Motor Racing: A New Era of Racing Simulation

Sega has recently unveiled an exciting trailer showcasing the collaboration with renowned racing driver Tetsuya Yamano on their upcoming racing simulator, Project Motor Racing. This trailer highlights Yamano's involvement in the "Factory Driver Program," where he works hand-in-hand with the development team to enhance vehicle dynamics and provide feedback aimed at creating a more authentic driving experience.

Project Motor Racing aims to bridge the divide between the virtual world and reality, and the Factory Driver Program serves as a vital platform for collecting insights from professional drivers and top sim racers. Through this program, participants answer approximately 40 questions across five categories—vehicle setting, realism, speed exploration, endurance racing, and track evaluation—per vehicle type. This extensive feedback is analyzed using advanced algorithms to improve the simulation's vehicle behavior.

In addition to providing feedback, program participants can directly communicate with developers and other program members through an online forum. This collaboration allows enthusiasts to contribute actively to the creation of a premier racing simulation experience.

Currently, Sega is inviting both professional and amateur drivers and sim racers to join the Factory Driver Program. More information about participation and eligibility can be found on the official Project Motor Racing website. Note that the program operates in English, and not all applicants will be accepted.
