Okayama University Launches the Student Support Project
From December 8 to 19, 2025, Okayama University (located in Okayama City and led by President Yasutomo Nasu) partnered with Ryobi Group and Okayama University Co-op to implement its inaugural "Student Support Project." The initiative’s goal is to enrich student life by offering affordable meals to help students maintain their health while engaging in academic pursuits.
For this project, breakfast buffets and special lunches named "Ryobi R-chan Lunch" were made available for just 100 yen each, limited to one week per month. The Peach Cafeteria served breakfast, while the Muscat Cafeteria and Pione Cafeteria provided the "Ryobi R-chan Lunch." The initiative was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from students, with meals selling out each day due to high demand.
Feedback from participating students was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the benefits of the initiative. One student commented, "I appreciate being able to enjoy a nutritious meal at such a reasonable price," while another expressed gratitude for being able to focus on studies and extracurricular activities after a good meal.
Okayama University is committed to continuing its collaboration with Ryobi Group and the Okayama University Co-op to support student health and learning. Furthermore, we encourage everyone to stay tuned for more developments from Okayama University, a distinctive research institution committed to community engagement.
