Overcoming the Challenges as a Human Resources Partner Between Management and Staff

Event Report: Navigating the Challenges Between Management and Staff

On August 20, 2025, Trustyyle Inc., based in Chuo, Tokyo, held an in-person event titled "How to Overcome the Dilemma Between Management and Staff" at the HR Library. The event aimed to shed light on the often-overlooked role of HR professionals as gatekeepers, providing crucial support to leaders while balancing employee needs. The session lasted for two hours and was led by notable guest speaker, Mr. Shinnosuke Hirose from Encounter Design.

Background and Purpose

In today's business landscape, entrepreneurs and innovators frequently garner the spotlight, yet it is the supportive figures—often referred to as gatekeepers—who play a key role in an organization’s success. HR professionals find themselves at the forefront, often caught in the middle between management and staff, dealing with various challenges.

This event was designed to address these challenges by focusing on the gatekeeper role, illustrating how HR professionals can mediate effectively between leadership and employees. One of the event's highlights was a conversation with Mr. Mitsu Okamoto, a member of the Community Empowerment Team (CET) at HR Library, who elaborated on the dynamics involved in being a gatekeeper. The goal was to help attendees discover insights and strategies for effectively driving their organizations forward, even when facing challenges from both sides.
