On December 19, Smilegate Megaport proudly announced the release of a new side story and hero in their mobile RPG, Epic Seven. This update includes the brand new side story 'The Lament of the Lost Ember' and introduces the exclusive hero Hecate, promising exciting adventures and gameplay enhancements for fans.

A Captivating New Side Story

The new narrative centers around Aki, a key figure from an era before destruction, embarking on thrilling adventures in the Fifth World. Hecate, appearing as a reaper descended from the outer universe, plays a pivotal role in balancing the cycle of souls. To enhance the storytelling experience further, each episode is fully voiced, bringing the game’s narrative to life in a way that players can truly immerse themselves in.

New mechanics such as 'environment skills' have also been introduced. This feature allows narrative developments to influence battle dynamics, adding a fresh layer of strategy to gameplay. Players can now enjoy the new episodes with eased unlocking conditions, allowing them to play their favorite episodes freely after completing Episode 1.

Meet Hecate: The Exclusive Hero

Hecate is a ★5 Wood Attribute Warrior with formidable abilities. One of her standout skills, Authority of Death, prevents all heroes, enemies included, from using 'immortality' and 'revival,' while delivering a powerful single-target attack that penetrates defenses. Her Inevitability of Death skill grants her increased attack power for three turns and deals damage regardless of any 'damage distribution' effects if the target is a hero.

In combination with the newly introduced equipment set, 'War Breaker,' which will be available in subsequent updates, Hecate’s skills can become even more powerful.

Quality of Life Improvements and Exciting Events

Alongside new content, several quality of life improvements have been implemented. For instance, the difficulty of the 'Hall of Trials,' a content that allows players to earn exclusive hero equipment, has been reduced significantly. A new recommendation system suggests the most suitable heroes for the equipment acquired, streamlining the gameplay.

Additionally, a 'Wish List' feature now enables players to select seven types of heroes and ancient relics they wish to summon, ensuring that only their chosen targets can be summoned.

As we usher into the year’s end, a plethora of exciting events are scheduled to enhance player engagement. A notable event is the '★5 Moon Shadow Hero Scout Event,' where players can select a desired hero and complete missions to acquire them. Moreover, a 'Login Event' rewards players for logging in with various prizes over a period leading up to January 8, 2026. Starting December 25, players can also take part in a 'Christmas Celebration Free Covenant Summon Event,' offering a total of 77 free summoning opportunities.
