Lotte Innovate Co. Unveils its Next-Gen Metaverse Experience at CES 2025

Lotte Innovate Co. Showcases Breakthrough Metaverse Platform at CES 2025

Lotte Innovate Co., a prominent player in the ICT sector in South Korea, has made headlines yet again. At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, the company, in collaboration with its subsidiary Caliverse, presented its evolved hyper-realistic metaverse platform, marking its fourth consecutive showing at the event. Its exhibition was positioned strategically in the North Hall of Tech East.

As a significant arm of the Lotte Group, which operates in a myriad of sectors globally, Lotte Innovate plays a pivotal role in steering the company's digital transformation initiatives. The Lotte Group, encompassing approximately 100 affiliates across around 30 countries, excels in a variety of industries including food, distribution, tourism, and construction, boasting a staggering total asset valuation of around $130 trillion.

The star of this exhibition was none other than 'Caliverse', the metaverse platform which had previously introduced itself globally at CES 2024. This platform distinguishes itself from traditional social networking services and gaming by facilitating a seamless interaction between online and offline realms. Users can buy hyper-realistic virtual goods and have them delivered right to their doorsteps—these goods have utility both within and outside the metaverse environment.

The immersive experience offered by 'Caliverse' is revolutionary, incorporating convergence technologies that support the creation of virtual twins and enable limitless User Generated Content (UGC). The design of the exhibition space allowed visitors to engage with various features of 'Caliverse', spread across eight distinct zones using numerous device types.

Exhibition Highlights

VR Zone

Located at the entrance, this zone offered attendees a taste of K-POP and exclusive EDM performances through head-mounted display (HMD) technology. Highlighted contents included concerts associated with Korea's renowned MBC program 'Show! Music Core' and Tomorrowland EDM concerts featuring top DJs like Dimitri Vegas and Lost Frequencies.

3D Display Zone

Here, individuals could explore the metaverse platform via 3D content without the need for specialized glasses, thanks to mobile devices equipped with unique film attachments. An embedded AI system further personalized the experience using user eye-tracking technology.

PC Zone

This area provided a hyper-real shopping experience, showcasing a remarkable degree of customization for both avatars and virtual spaces, termed 'My Home.' The integration of online and offline shopping through notable outlets such as Lotte Duty Free and Lotte Himart was a crowd favorite, effectively merging the tangible with the digital.

AI Scan Zone

Showcasing advanced AI scanning technology, users could create virtual representations of real products simply by filming them with their smartphones. For items that could not be filmed, AI assistance was available, emphasizing the platform's scalability and versatility.

3D Live Zone

Here, audiences experienced the power of live streaming in the metaverse, where individuals in front of green screens seamlessly transformed into digital twins interacting with users in real-time. This technology has promising implications for future user engagement endeavors, such as virtual concerts and shopping experiences.

Virtual Cinema

Inside the booth, visitors were able to enjoy EDM and K-POP performances on a grand scale, wearing 3D glasses. This feature capitalizes on 'Caliverse's' advanced graphics engine, Unreal Engine 5, and incorporates technologies such as VR filming, compositing, and high-capacity data compression for a realistic experience.

LOTTE Zone and Mobility Zone

Further enhancing the experience were sections dedicated to the broader Lotte Group and Lotte Innovate's electric vehicle charging solutions.

With its groundbreaking technology, engaging content, and formidable growth potential on full display, Lotte Innovate Co. aims to cement its status as a frontrunner in the rapidly-evolving metaverse industry, making CES 2025 a pivotal opportunity to showcase its innovative prowess.

Through Caliverse, Lotte Innovate is not only reshaping digital interaction but also paving the way for an interactive future that blends reality with the boundless possibilities of the metaverse.
