SI Group's Leadership Transition
The SI Group, renowned for its innovation in performance additives and chemical intermediates, announced a pivotal leadership change today. Effective October 19, 2026, Marcello Boldrini will step into the role of Chief Executive Officer, succeeding David Bradley, who led the company since 2019. This appointment comes as the firm looks to strengthen its strategic direction and operational excellence in a competitive industry.
Daryl Roberts, a board member at SI Group, expressed excitement about Boldrini's appointment, emphasizing his extensive experience in the specialty chemicals sector. "Marcello's proven track record in growth, transformation, and operational improvement will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our performance and cater to our customers' needs," he stated.
Marcello Boldrini's Background
Boldrini is not new to the industry, bringing over thirty years of leadership experience across continents, including Europe, Asia, and North America. His prior role was as CEO of Kraton Corporation, a global player in specialty chemicals based in Houston. Under his leadership, Kraton experienced remarkable growth and transformation, notably establishing a transformation office that generated annual EBITDA improvements exceeding $100 million.
Before Kraton, Boldrini held senior positions at prominent firms such as Houghton International, Momentive/Hexion, and Ashland. He will be based in The Woodlands, Texas, at SI Group's headquarters.
In his own words, Boldrini stated, "I am honored to join SI Group as CEO and look forward to collaborating with our employees, clients, and partners. My initial focus will be on listening and learning, spending time with our teams and customers, and working alongside the leadership team to build on SI Group's strengths and establish clear priorities for the company."
Focus on Safety and Operational Excellence
The leadership team at SI Group will work closely with Boldrini to maintain a clear focus on safety, operational performance, and customer commitments. Current clients, suppliers, and business partners can continue to collaborate through their existing contacts at the company.
Shawn Abrams, also a board member, acknowledged David Bradley’s contributions: "I thank David for his leadership during significant transformations and handling some of the toughest challenges. His efforts during his tenure included successfully navigating the company’s recapitalization in 2025, which enhanced our financial health and provided more flexibility for future endeavors."
Looking Ahead
As SI Group embarks on this new chapter, it aims to strengthen its position as a leader in providing indispensable chemical technologies that enhance the quality and performance of industrial and consumer goods across various sectors, including plastics, rubber, adhesives, fuels, lubricants, coatings, and oil field applications. The firm operates 18 production facilities globally and serves customers in over 80 countries, fueled by a workforce of around 1,500 employees.
The goal of SI Group remains clear: to deliver lasting value through innovation, built on a foundation of safety, chemistry, sustainability, and exceptional results for a better tomorrow. Further information about SI Group is available on their website at
