TMG Automotive and Haartz Corporation Collaborate on New Facility
In an exciting development for the automotive industry, TMG Automotive, based in Guimarães, Portugal, has partnered with Haartz Corporation from Acton, Massachusetts, to announce their joint venture, TMG & Haartz Solutions. This new venture will establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Bostic, North Carolina, dedicated to producing premium surface materials used in automotive interiors.
The New Facility
The facility is strategically situated in a reimagined former Milliken plant in Golden Valley, boasting nearly 300,000 square feet of space. Here, the companies will create high-quality synthetic leather for various automotive applications, including seat covers, dashboards, door pillars, and shift boot covers. TMG & Haartz Solutions is poised to serve clients across the Americas, delivering over 150 years of combined expertise in the automotive sector.
Jose-Antonio Texeira, Co-CEO of TMG Automotive, expressed excitement regarding the partnership, stating, “Today we officially announce the next phase of our longstanding and successful collaboration with The Haartz Corporation through the establishment of a new production facility in the United States.”
Shared Values and Innovation
This strategic decision stems from a mutual commitment to excellence and trust, reflecting the companies' deep-rooted relationship. Both TMG and Haartz have demonstrated an understanding of the evolving demands of the automotive industry and remain focused on offering exceptional value to their customers.
North Carolina was selected after a thorough evaluation of the necessary conditions for sustainable growth and operational efficiency. This investment will not only enhance their capacity to supply the North American automotive industry but will also bolster their global supply chain and innovation potential.
The initiative signals long-term benefits for their businesses, employees, and the communities in which they operate. “This is a significant step forward in our shared quest for industrial excellence and customer satisfaction,” added Texeira.
Commitment to Innovation
John Millea, President of the Haartz Corporation, shared his enthusiasm for the new joint endeavors. “Haartz is thrilled to announce our collaborative efforts with TMG, which represent a strategic continuation of our excellent cooperation. The drive for innovation and sustainable growth that we are bringing to North Carolina fills us with excitement and optimism for the future.”
Both companies understand what it takes to support the automotive sector effectively. Their track record speaks for itself; individually and collaboratively, they are prepared to tackle and resolve the industry's most complex challenges. The addition of synthetic leather capabilities in this area will expand their product offerings for customers in both North and South America.
TMG & Haartz Solutions eagerly anticipates collaborating with the local community to establish a premier production facility in a fantastic southeastern U.S. location.

This partnership combines the strengths of two leading family-owned businesses with a shared legacy of innovation and over a century of experience in high-performance materials.
