Ascend To ZERO Open Playtest on Steam

Flyway Games, led by President Hironori Kanemizu, has announced the start of an open playtest for their new PC game, Ascend To ZERO. Anyone can participate for free until December 28 at 17:00 via Steam. This playtest offers players a chance to explore a new stage and experience enhanced gameplay.

A Time-Bending Roguelike Experience

Ascend To ZERO is an action game that allows players to manipulate time as they navigate through a roguelike world. Players harness the power to stop time, immobilizing enemies while crafting strategic combat paths. This unique feature creates a combination of tense survival tactics within a limited 30-second time window and exhilarating action that can turn the tide of battle.

New Stage 2 Available!

While the demo version limited players to Stage 1, this open playtest introduces Stage 2, where players can leverage their progress from Stage 1 and face tougher enemies and densely packed combat puzzles. By accumulating rogue-like elements, they can power up for more intense challenges in this newly unlocked stage, ensuring that the gameplay remains fresh and engaging.

Expanded Content and New Features

Flyway Games has significantly enhanced the rogue-like build system based on player feedback. This version introduces the innovative Fate Editing Machine, alongside many new items, which greatly expands players' options for customizing their builds. The Fate Editing Machine allows players to spend acquired resources to select special abilities that match their playstyle, leading to faster and more dynamic hack-and-slash combat experiences.

Art Style Revamped and Voice Acting by Akari Kito

Ascend To ZERO discards the previous super-deformed (SD) art style, opting instead for a revamped six-head character design that enhances character individuality. Notably, voice actress Akari Kito lends her talents by providing voices for six different avatar characters, adding to the immersive experience.

Playtest and KRAFTON Publisher Sale

The open playtest of Ascend To ZERO coincides with a KRAFTON Publisher Sale on Steam, featuring discounts on various titles developed by the KRAFTON family of creative studios. One highlighted title is the newly added rhythm action game, Hi-Fi RUSH, which is available at a 40% discount.
