In a significant event held in Chongqing, ChangAn Automobile, renowned for its commitment to intelligent low-carbon mobility technology, hosted the 2025 Overseas Partner Conference themed "Vast Ocean Plan: United Towards the Peak." This gathering brought together over 500 partners from more than 70 countries, aiming to share insights into the Company’s recent achievements and lay out an ambitious roadmap for its future.
During the conference, ChangAn introduced its "2030 Vision," revealing plans to invest over $10 billion globally. The Company aims to achieve an impressive milestone of 5 million vehicle sales by the year 2030, aspiring to secure a position among the world’s top 10 automobile brands. This ambitious goal highlights ChangAn's swift growth trajectory in the global automotive market.
Significant Growth and Expansion
Zhu Huarong, Chairman of ChangAn Automobile, delivered a keynote speech underscoring the impressive advancements made by the Company in the past five years in terms of new energy, intelligence, and expanding its global presence. He reported a remarkable 34.2% increase in global sales, which reached 2.684 million vehicles in 2024, including 735,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) and 536,000 sold internationally. Zhu emphasized ChangAn's focus on strengthening its global competitiveness through a balanced approach, integrating long-term strategies with localized operations.
As ChangAn continues its international expansion, it has identified key overseas markets for growth and is committed to enhancing local production capabilities, branding efforts, and customer service initiatives. The Company's overseas sales were ranked among the top three in China's automobile export sector for 2024, underlining its strong position globally.
Key Milestones Achieved
Li Mingcai, Executive Vice President of ChangAn, provided insights into the Company’s global milestones achieved in the recent years. Notable achievements include the establishment of its first international NEV manufacturing base in Thailand and the formation of eight production partnerships across various countries, culminating in a capacity of 580,000 units. By selling over 500,000 vehicles internationally and exceeding $11 billion in revenue in 2024, ChangAn has decisively expanded its footprint, entering 20 new countries and operating a robust network of 1,150 sales channels.
The Company has also gained international recognition for its brands CHANG-AN, DEEPAL, and AVATR, and successfully entered the "BrandZ Top 50 Chinese Global Brands" list within just 14 months of launching its Vast Ocean Plan. Despite challenging global trends toward anti-globalization, ChangAn has asserted its strength as a leader in China’s smart manufacturing, recording nine consecutive years of export growth.
Future Product Strategy
The conference also highlighted ChangAn's innovative approach to product development. Executive Vice President Wang Xiaofei emphasized the importance of technological innovation in the Company’s global strategy. With an investment exceeding 114.8 billion yuan in research and development and a dedicated international team of 18,000 professionals, including 5,000 specializing in software and artificial intelligence, ChangAn is well-positioned for future growth.
As part of its dual-track development plan, ChangAn is set to launch 20 new automobiles internationally by 2025, split evenly between fossil fuel vehicles and NEVs. The fossil-fuel models will target regions such as Central and South America, the Middle East, Africa, and Eurasia, while the NEVs will focus on the Asia Pacific and Europe, signaling a comprehensive approach to meet diverse market needs.
In addition, ChangAn is working towards creating a cohesive global brand structure under its three main brands, deploying a "1+N" brand strategy that leverages one global IP alongside multiple localized campaigns annually. Upcoming global models include the CS75PLUS, DEEPAL S05, AVATR 07, and CHANG-AN Q07, reflecting the Company’s emphasis on rich product offerings tailored to various markets.
