GAC's European Expansion Unveiled at Milan Design Week 2025
On April 8, 2025, GAC marked its third participation at Milan Design Week, a leading event in the global design industry that melds art, culture, and technology. The event showcased the
European debut of the AION UT alongside the highly-anticipated return of the
AION V. GAC also introduced the fourth model from its Car Culture series, the
CC4, and announced the theme for the
GAC Design Award 2025, titled
Beauty of Tomorrow II AI Works.
Key GAC executives were present, including Zhang Fan (Head of GAC Design), Thomas Schemera (Global COO of GAC INTERNATIONAL), and Stéphane Janin (Director of GAC Advanced Design Center Europe). They engaged in discussions focused on the company’s design philosophy and plans for the European market, offering insights into the future trajectory of GAC's Milan Advanced Design Center.
Thomas Schemera emphasized
GAC's commitment to design-driven production, stating that their goal is to deliver vehicles characterized by exceptional design, superior quality, and cutting-edge technology—thereby enhancing mobility experiences for European consumers.
The exhibition, set in
Via Tortona 16, transformed the space into an immersive showcase where bold design seamlessly integrated with advanced technology. Both AION models were central to the exhibition, featuring smooth, aerodynamic lines and carefully crafted bodies. The
AION UT, developed at GAC's Milan Advanced Design Center, harmonizes Italian design sensibilities with the preferences of local markets. Noteworthy features of the AION UT include:
- - A world-first eyebrow-inspired headlight design.
- - A 14.6-inch central touchscreen and an 8.88-inch digital instrument display.
- - L2 intelligent driving assistance and high-strength sidewalls to meet extensive European safety standards.
- - An embrace-style backbone body structure that enhances overall strength and safety.
- - An innovative 2nd Generation Magazine Battery, noted for its ability to charge from 30% to 80% in just 24 minutes and its gunshot resistant capability.
The
AION V made a significant impression as well. It promises a driving experience that surpasses expectations, incorporating safety features such as a
2.3-meter ultra-long side curtain airbag, effectively creating a secure “mobile fortress” for passengers. Both vehicles' design and performance aim to set a new standard in electric mobility, showcasing GAC's advanced engineering and commitment to quality.
In addition to the product showcases, GAC INTERNATIONAL laid out its
European Market Plan, focusing on the vision of “In Europe, For Europe, Integrating into Europe, Serving Europe, and Contributing to Europe”. With the anticipated introduction of the AION UT and AION V into the European market, GAC plans to leverage its strategic partnership with Jameel Motors to bring
AION and
Hyptec brand models to Poland by Q3 2025.
This participation at Milan Design Week illustrates GAC's robust strategy to expand its influence in the European automotive landscape, aligning cutting-edge design and innovation with consumer needs and market demands as they establish a strong presence across the continent.
