Launch of the National Unified Digital Skills Test
Nagase Corporation, based in Musashino, Tokyo, is excited to announce the hosting of the
National Unified Digital Skills Test for corporate and academic professionals, scheduled for November 2025. This standardized assessment is designed in compliance with the
Digital Skills Standards established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan. The primary goal is to enhance digital skills among working professionals and students, alongside bolstering digital transformation (DX) efforts across various sectors.
Overview of the National Unified Digital Skills Test
The test will measure not only knowledge and skills but also the mindset required to foster a transformative workforce. By thoroughly evaluating candidates, organizations can identify potential DX leaders and gauge the overall digital proficiency within their teams. This assessment aligns with organizations' strategies for skill enhancement through a systematic cycle of testing, strategy development, and execution.
Characteristics of the Test
1.
Visualizing Digital Skills
Participants' digital skills will be evaluated based on definitions set by METI, enabling organizations to gain insights into their current digital capabilities. This feature allows teams to formulate a human resource development plan by pinpointing which departments or age groups require priority development.
2.
Identifying Potential Talent
The test is not limited to the DX department; it will uncover latent 'DX-promoting talent' across the organization. Organizations can leverage the results to enhance their internal DX capabilities while assessing participants' market value through nationwide rankings and competitive comparisons.
3.
Insightful Analytical Reports
Both collective and individual results will be provided, with a detailed evaluation of skill sets aligned with the Digital Skills Standards. This feedback, combined with explanation sessions (available online), will offer candidates actionable steps for personal growth.
Dual Test Options Tailored to Objectives
To cater to diverse skill levels within the workforce and accelerate foundational digital capabilities and DX initiatives, two versions of the test have been developed:
National Unified Digital Skills Test
This comprehensive assessment includes evaluations of adaptability to digital trends, fundamental business skills (such as logical comprehension and mathematical reasoning), and effectiveness in driving DX initiatives. It enables organizations to visualize employees who can lead DX efforts, identify next-generation leaders, and recognize key personnel for projects.
Recommended for:
- Employees involved in DX promotion
- IT/system department members
- Employees with a strong interest in digital/IT fields and who are proactively learning
National Unified Digital Skills Test (Basic Skill Assessment)
This version measures digital literacy across all employees, including those in non-IT departments. It aims to assess and visualize digital proficiency, contributing to overall organizational enhancement.
Recommended for:
- Employees in non-IT/system departments
- Employees unsure of their abilities and skills in the digital arena
By combining both tests, organizations can implement a dual-layer system that supports broad foundational development and the selective enhancement of core teams, ultimately identifying and strengthening talent crucial for successful DX initiatives.
