ChangAn Automobile Launches its Electric Vehicle Brands in Europe, Paving the Way for Future Mobility

In a major development for the electric vehicle market, ChangAn Automobile has successfully launched its three prominent brands, CHANG-AN, DEEPAL, and AVATR, in Europe, marking the beginning of a new era in sustainable mobility. The launch event held in Mainz, Germany, was themed "Sharing the Future," aligning with the company's commitment to technological innovation and a greener future. This initiative is part of ChangAn's ambitious "Vast Ocean Plan," which aims to strengthen its presence in the European automotive sector by creating a fully integrated ecosystem covering research, production, supply chain, sales, and operations in Europe.

At the unveiling, ChangAn showcased its DEEPAL S07 model, which is set to make its European debut alongside other models including the CHANG-AN E07 and DEEPAL S05, slated for market introduction later. The launch emphasizes ChangAn's intent to meet the rising demand for premium electric vehicles by leveraging groundbreaking technologies that facilitate the transition to smart and electric mobility.

For many years, ChangAn has received global recognition for its advanced technological innovations, supported by an extensive global R&D collaboration network spanning six countries and ten locations. This network includes over 18,000 R&D personnel from 31 countries, 16 technology research centers, 17 technology firms, and 180 laboratories, solidifying the company's role as a key player in the European electric vehicle market.

In terms of strategy, ChangAn aims to implement a structured market entry approach, initially concentrating on key electric vehicle markets such as Norway, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The company plans to expand its footprint across all major European markets by 2028. The European headquarters, located in the Netherlands, will serve as its primary business hub, while the sales office will be established in Munich, Germany. Currently, the company employs approximately 500 professionals in Europe, including experienced designers and engineers from Italy and the UK, with further plans to enhance its local workforce to bolster innovation and market engagement.

Zhu Huarong, the President of ChangAn Automobile, expressed enthusiasm at the launch in Germany, stating, "ChangAn is an open and collaborative company with a clearly articulated mission to lead sustainable mobility for the benefit of people's quality of life." He highlighted the company's ambitious sales goals, aiming for a global sales target of three million units this year, one million of which will be electric vehicles. By 2030, ChangAn aims to deliver five million vehicles annually, including three million electric units, thereby driving innovation for a better future.
