What is Fukugyo Ryugaku?
Fukugyo Ryugaku is an on-the-job training program designed for employees of large corporations to participate in real-world startup challenges while dedicating approximately one day a week (10-30 hours monthly) for a duration of 3-6 months. This experience aims to cultivate a sense of ownership in career development and enhance practical knowledge through encountering complex, unanswered questions in a rigorous environment. To date, the program has supported over 300 participants from around 80 companies.
Key Updates
1.
Launch of Experience Community in Spring 2026
To ensure that insights gained through cross-border experiences are not limited to individual learnings, Enfactory will establish the "Experience Community" in Spring 2026. This platform aims to promote the practical application of knowledge obtained from diverse environments back into participants' main jobs, as well as the expansion of their professional networks. Activities planned include:
- Online presentations of cross-border experience stories twice a year
- Biannual in-person networking events
- Invitations to seminars and study sessions hosted by Enfactory focusing on themes related to learning and organizational development
- Access to a dedicated SNS for experience sharers
2.
Post-Training Assessments and Reminders
Starting in the 2023 fiscal year, Enfactory will implement a post-program assessment six months after training completion aimed at objectively measuring behavioral change. Regular reminder emails will also be sent to help participants maintain their cross-border mindset and ensure their transformation sticks beyond the training duration.
3.
Public Customization Options to Meet Various Needs
To further enhance its customizability, Enfactory will officially publish its tailored training options based on numerous corporate requests. This includes designing missions aligned with organizational strategies, such as developing next-generation leaders through succession planning, nurturing DX talent, and creating innovation-focused tasks. Additionally, offerings will include career consultant one-on-one meetings and flexible planning for new company opportunities tailored to the specific goals of the training.
4.
Introduction of Full-Time Study Abroad Options
In response to corporate demands for a more immersive experience, Enfactory will also offer a "Full-Time Study Abroad" option, allowing participants to entirely detach from their primary job and fully immerse themselves in the challenges at the border. This flexible program will be available for periods ranging from two months to one year, enabling a deep dive into the operational and cultural environments.
Across these updates, Enfactory aims to visualize personal growth stemming from cross-border training, nurturing it within a community framework to connect individual transformations with organizational evolution.
